Wal-Mart Goes Stupid: SIXAXIS Controllers for the Xbox 360

The guys over at Sarcastic Gamer were at their local Wal-Mart the other night to pick up some medicine when they passed by a display that caught their attention.

Yeah, thats right, what your seeing in that picture is an Xbox 360 display with SIXAXIS controllers in the slots. It's bound to happen that some misguided parent is going to pop by looking for Xbox 360 controllers and pick up a SIXAXIS instead. At least the controllers will sell though.

Today's lesson: don't ask Wal-Mart employees about anything video game related.

Looking for some PS2 classics I hadn't played before at a nearby GameStop I picked up Shadow of the Colossus for $18 bucks.

A guy in line asked the sales person about a version of SingStar (PS2 version) and if there was a version for the 360. The guy actually looked around the store (well, more like all the games and stuff behind the counter) for it and eventually just said, "no I don't think so", but he wasn't sure. He just gave up looking for it (probably because the store was packed and he just wanted to get the next person in line).

I thought to myself, "this guy works at a videogame store and doesn't know about SingStar and the fact that it's published by Sony?" I was tempted to tell the guy myself but didn't want to come off as brash or some know-it-all.

So yeah, Wal-Mart staff wouldn't be a great place for advice but even stores like GameStop aren't guaranteed to have knowledgable people.
