Thanks to tipster Jonathan, we've discovered that the Japanese Metal Gear Online site states that the beta's official start date is April 14, 2008. It may possibly start at the same time worldwide. All I know so far is, April is going to be a hell of a month for the PlayStation Network.

The official Playstation Blog site states the beta begins April 21st. That could be the time when the american one begins in contrast to japan.
I think the 4/14 date was a mistake, downloads begin on 4/17 (Thursday) and the beta testing period is between 4/21 (Monday) and 5/6 (Tuesday).
Also on another note, this tipster has to be wrong becuase the japanese beta already begun. There's video of it up on yotube and such.
Maybe that's there beta end date?
There was an earlier closed public beta for the Japanese last year. This one's open to many more people.
