Starbreeze's Assault on Dark Athena is mostly remake of the original, Escape from Butcher Bay, with some added chapters for expanded excellence. This point is another supposed reason for the delay -- people moaned the game was simply a remake and demanded more original content. Starbreeze might be doing just that. Either way, we'll find out in 2008, when the game is released.

Gran Turismo 5 Dated for Japan

Kazunori Yamauchi reckons the game will be out in Japan by Summer of 2008, around July. So unless they decide to release it at the same time for everyone else, when can North America and Europe expect the game by? I'm thinking 2009.

Korea's PS3 Bank Kiosk

A lot of people say East Side is the best. Maybe it's because when you go do your checking you can play some games. In related SCEK promotional news, a public demonstration of PlayStation hardware was also set up at a multiplex cinema in Mokdong, Seoul. Look below for that picture.

PSone Backup Running on PS3 Thanks to TIFF Exploit?
A new video has appeared on YouTube of a member who got a PSone backup to run on his PlayStation 3. Anyway, this was apparently done using the new PS3 TIFF exploit that was discovered more than a week ago by members of the PS3Hax Network website. Anyway, to me, this video looks pretty legit, but only others can tell.

Stuntman: Ignition Canned? Juiced 2 held back!

The PlayStation 3 owners are now facing yet another delay for a multiplatform game. Juiced 2: Hot Import Nights, has been pushed back to October.
According to the latest release schedule published by THQ, the PlayStation 3 and PSP versions of Juiced 2 will now be shipping in October, whereas the 360, DS and PS2 versions will all still arrive on store shelves in September.
And now about Stuntman: Ignition, it seems it has been canned. It was pushed back from it's August release to a November release. But now the PlayStation 3 version is not even on the list. The Xbox 360 and PS2 versions are still on the August 31 release.

Haze vs. Halo 3 Comparison

It's time to compare screenshots for two of the best upcoming games. Thats for Haze and Halo 3. Now which one is better? Thats for you to decide, read the rest after the jump.
Here we got the Haze Character and the Halo Character shooting their ammo.
The squads of both games, ready to kill.
And here they are on the vehicles. Now, all in all, I think both the graphics for these games rock, but thats my opinion, you decide on the winner.

Haze Lets You Steal Weapons!

According to one of the tutorial images in Haze, you can steal weapons straight of the enemies hands! That is a very cool feature that should of already been implemented in games out now. Great job Haze makers!

BBC Warns: Killzone 2 "most immersive experience ever"

BBC did a recent play of Killzone 2. And right off the bat, they warn you when you:
"sit down in front of a playable level ... it is immediately clear that Killzone 2 will be one of the most cinematic and immersive games ever produced on a console."Pretty big talk to say about a game that isn't complete yet. Not everything was so peachy keen on BBC's take though, they also stated:
"game mechanics of the level I saw are not particularly innovative,""Killzone 2 is an archetypal shooter - a futuristic action title that draws on the symbolism of World War II to create a sense of familiarity."

God of War Movie to be HD-DVD Only?
In an interview with David Jaffe, God of War Creator, he said that Universal is still working on the God of War movie. Now, according to a Geek.com article, Universal aquired the rights of the movie from Sony around 2 years ago. After some research, people have not realize, if Universal is making the movie, then it's going to be HD-DVD as they only do that. Blu-Ray owners may have to pick up the DVD version or buy an HD-DVD player. Follow the source link for the video.

Rumor: 2.00 Update Details

A post made over at The Video Gaming Report is about a 2.00 update for the PlayStation 3. So far, it's still a rumor. Here are the features explained:
1. v2.00 will have updated drivers for its built-in internet browser, for updated flash player functionality and other stuff related to the browser. The story behind the finding of these features goes on with the posters friend who found them at a message board. I highly doubt these though, but anyways, thats why it's a rumor.
2. his beta/final build of v2.00 consisted of 2 different downloads - one containing Home, and one without it. this results in the Home software having it's own section in the XMB. Current Beta version are downloaded from the store and are booted from the game section of the XMB. It was mentioned though, that Home has been accessed this way since v1.54 and not to expect Home to actually be released until after v2.10 or v2.20. Kinks are being worked out involving the Home/XMB menu design/access. His group is mainly ironing out
3. Anonymous mentioned that there would be no in-game XMB access yet, although the group that he is currently operating with have actually sent this idea, as well as other ideas, to their dept heads. Aside from known bug issues, he also gets to send his higher-ups thoughts/opinions/ideas to improve software. But he hasn't heard of any response from anyone yet about this feature other than that, so far, it is not in his final build.
4. Icons for movies/games can now move while other media types are currently being accessed.
5. Security is being worked on. You can password protect individual files on your HDD including movies, photos and pictures by pressing triangle to access the options menu. he did state though that this does not appear to be anywhere finished yet, and not to expect it for the v2.00 update, but cool info none the less.

Sierra Entertainment Announces Prototype
Though I heard about this weeks ago, it seems it was just announced. Thank you GameInformer. Anyway, Sierra Entertainment has just announced a game coming to the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC called Prototype. Here is PSU's breakdown of the game.
Radical Entertainment is tackling the developing side by taking you through the life of Alex Mercer and his secret battle in NYC. Through this story, influenced by conspiracy undertones, Mercer learns of a problem facing all of mankind. By utilizing his shape shift abilities he not only can mimic his surroundings, but also copy powers from anyone or anything in his path.
“Radical Entertainment set out to create the most dynamic video game character ever imagined. From free-form movement to over-the-top combat action; Prototype can climb or wall-run across any surface, jump 30 stories high, and destroy anything that crosses his path.” Are you as excited as we are?
Seems like a pretty cool game, and if you read the many pages telling you about the game in GameInformer, then you would be dazzled. Keep a look out as Prototype is coming out in 2008.

Rumor: Bioshock for PlayStation 3?
According to PSU, there is a rumor going around about BioShock, right now exclusive to the XBOX360 and PC. The rumor is that it may be coming to the PlayStation 3. Here is the main highlight:
There was positive discussion almost to the point of confirmation that this title would hit for the PlayStation 3 next spring. While there have been various sources since X06 that claimed a PS3 version was in development, it would seem not a question of whether it's true at this point, but when it will happen. Despite our confidence in the integrity of our information however, we must emphasize that this is still a rumor, and Take Two has not officially confirmed this with us yet.
Anyway, as a PS3 owner, I'd be pretty happy if it comes out for the PlayStation 3. Check back for more on that rumor.

Cruzader's PlayStation Store
It's a great thing to see when a dedicated PlayStation 3 player tries to make what sucks into something as gorgeous as this. Thats exactly what Cruzader did. Tell me something. Wouldn't you like to see this everytime you enter the PlayStation Store instead of the current interface:
Would you like to be able to search through the content that the PlayStation Store is soon going to be giving us to download:
Would you like to browse through the content with interfaces that relate to the item your looking at:
Would you like to be able to look through your cart as easy as it is to scroll through settings on the XMB:
Would you like to view detailed descriptions of movies like in this:
If you would, then check out the topic for Cruzader's PlayStation Store and help us get this store design through to Sony to possibly hire Cruzader to help them out. If you want to help out, follow these steps:
1) Go here: http://blog.us.playstation.com/contact.php
2) Send Sony a message about the store with this link: http://www.ps3forums.com/showthread.php?t=90482
That simple. If you get an error saying "Your Remarks Is Invalid" then you can just post as a comment, though it's not recommended. The popularity of this Store is very high, it was also on Kotaku.
