Famitsu: Cross Edge Announced for PlayStation 3


The latest issue of Japanese gaming magazine, Famitsu, features a new game exclusively for the PlayStation 3, called Cross Edge.

The game, scheduled for a September 2008 release in Japan, is a collaboration between Idea Factory, Gust, Capcom, Namco Bandai, Nippon Ichi Software, and Compile Heart. Development is currently 70% done at the moment.

In Cross Edge, the main character wakes up in a messed up world with some other characters who don't belong there. The world they wake up in lives on feeding off people's souls from other worlds. If it is not stopped, the world which that soul comes from will cease to exist. Currently, only two of the worlds are known. One being The Underworld, which consists of soulds from Vampire/Darkstalker and Disgaea. The other being Dreamworld, consisting of souls from Ar Tonelico and Marie's Atelier. Prince of Persia IV EDGE Scans

Prince of Persia IV Scans Are Cell-Shaded

Some new magazine scans have appeared on French gaming site, Pro-Gamers, of the just announced Prince of Persia title.. The new scans show Prince of Persia coming to next-generation in a cell-shaded new look. Will it hold up to it's successors? Hit the link for the scans.

Street Fighter IV: One New Scan

A new scan from Capcom's upcoming Street Fighter IV has popped up on the internet. The new scans show the new versions of the characters we know as Balrog, Vega, Sagat and M. Bison. They certainly look great.

PSW Grand Theft Auto IV Review: 10/10

We are beginning to wonder if we should keep posting up these reviews as we know they are all going to be perfect or just-perfect. PlayStation World magazine has reviewed Grand Theft Auto IV and has given it a 10/10, adding to it's pack of perfect scores.

The review confirms the SIXAXIS controls as well. You can use it for driving vehicles, flying, and driving boats. They also say you can use the SIXAXIS to reload your weapon by simply giving it a flip upwards. Remember, these are all optional. If your looking for scans, hit the link below.

Official PlayStation Magazine UK Reviews Grand Theft Auto IV 10/10

Yes, as if it wasn't obvious, Grand Theft Auto IV has received another perfect score, this one coming from the Official PlayStation Magazine UK. The review contained new information in which of course we have for you here.

  • Leave Niko standing there and he'll scratch his balls.
  • Groups include the Irish hoodlums, the depressed ex-cons and a paranoid lesbian coke dealer.
  • One car is called the Corquette.
  • Two of the girlfriends are called Carmen and Katie.
  • While dating Press Circle to try your luck or X to say goodnight.
  • You can hijack a van transporter carrying a convict.
  • Press L1 to order order a dog about.
  • Hidden Packages and Stunt Jumps are back.
  • Your Mobile phone starts out with a standard pay as you go model but you can upgrade to fancier models with more features.
  • The vibrate function in the PS3 version can be felt when the mobile phone rings.
  • You have Frank McReary and Patrick "Packie" McReary and now there is Gerry McReary he is an ex IRA member.
  • You can call 911 on your mobile phone to get the police to check the crime database.
  • One of the missions is called "Three Leaf Clover".
  • The phone also lets you jump back into failed missions just by clicking 'Yes'.
  • After killing one of Niko's bosses you can ring his number and you hear an answer machine message from his grieving wife.
  • You can unlock your friends uniques perks by finding out what they like to eat and drink.
  • A new location is called the Pink Triangle Gentlemen's Club.

Siren: New Translation Announced for PlayStation 3


Famitsu, you always have to spoil the surprises. Remember that countdown from yesterday we were suspecting to be a new Siren? Well today Famitsu today revealed Siren: New Translation for PlayStation 3, so we are pretty damn sure of it now. Siren: Translation is a remake of the first Siren game, and is currently 90% complete. The game is releasing in Japan on July 24, 2008 with a demo coming to the Japanese PlayStation Store eon April 24, 2008. Now what about a US release?

Star Ocean 4 Scan Shows Amazing Visuals

The latest issue of Dengeki in Japan featured a scan of Star Ocean IV. The scan shows artwork of the hero on the bottom left standing there in his glory. To the right of him, they show an in-game 3D version of him that looks simply amazing.

There is also some pictures from cutscenes or in-game, you never know, tri-Ace is amazing when it comes to these things. Enjoy!

Grand Theft Auto IV: 3 New EGM Images

The latest issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly features some new Grand Theft Auto IV screenshots along with their extensive multiplayer preview. The new screens, however, are not from the multiplayer mode. View them at the link.

NEO+ Reveals More on Motorstorm 2

In the latest issue of NEO+, a Polish gaming magazine, a feature on Motorstorm 2 reveals some new information about the game's contents and user customization.

In the preview, they state you'll be able to customize your driver to your liking, along with your vehicles as well with paint and adding new parts. You'll be able to listen to custom music tracks in game as well as you race. Lets hope by this releases, Sony has in-game XMB out and that won't be necessary.

The game features racing through tracks in the jungle, caves, mountain hillsides and volcano craters which means you'll be seeing fiery hot lava. Hit the jump for the scans.

King of Fighters XII: Arcadia Scans


The latest issue of Arcadia Magazine features some of the 2D beauty that is King of Fighters XII. As you may or may not know, this should be hitting the PlayStation 3 sometime in 2009. The scans are looking very good. All the hand-drawn artwork is amazing. Enjoy!

Star Ocean IV: New Famitsu Scans


This week's Famitsu issue promised to publish some new information on tri-Ace titles, and we got some new information on Star Ocean IV. Unfortunately, tri-Ace still hasn't announced the console for the game. This is what we do know from the scans.
- Character designs for Edge Marverick and Remy Saionji revealed.
- CG shots from the trailer.
- Some town shots that look like they might be realtime.
- Interview with the Square Enix producer, and Gotanda.
- Gotanda isn't directing Star Ocean IV this time, he's just a supervisor and responsible for the original story concept.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Six New Famitsu Scans


The latest issue of Japanese Gaming Magazine, Famitsu (weekly), contains six new pages of Konami's upcoming Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. The new scans feature new screenshots, including one with Snake and Campbell, and two chickens who appear to b enamed Liquid and Solid. The other pages show some more Metal Gear Online, revealing the maps to be included: Ambush Alley, Gronznji Grad, Urban Ultimatum, Blood Bath amd Midtown Maelstrom. [MGS4.NET]

PLAY: Grand Theft Auto IV Multiplayer Preview

The latest issue of UK based gaming magazine, PLAY, features an extensive preview on Grand Theft Auto IV's multiplayer modes. Lets get to the breakdown.

  • Belic means "Warlike".
  • Time Square is big and covered in ads.
  • In Death Match, it is confined to an area on the map to keep the action in the game intense.
  • In Team Death Match, four can sit in a helicopter/car, the non drivers can shoot with any weapon they have, not just uzi/pistols.
  • Mafia Work consists of you being given simply missions as a group and having to pull them off. For example: recruit people, doing hits or there favorite find and dispose of heads.
  • Team Mafia Work is more competitive the Mafia work but fundamentally the same thing.
  • Cops n' Crooks consists of one player being assigned as the boss while the other robbers protect him from the cops, they must take him to a secure location before he is killed.
  • Hangman's NOOSE is for four players and consists of you having to protect Petrovic from the swat from the airport to a safe house.
  • Free Roam is like single player with mates. Go anywhere do anything you want.
  • On character customization, the more you play the more you unlock so experienced players will have more items to choose from.
  • Team Death Match is relentless, you cannot relax.
  • In Hangman's NOOSE, they tore down the runway in a baggage handler shooting at the SWAT- The writer said it was the funniest thing he has seen in a video game.
  • They saw an NPC tagging a shop wall and another pedestrian taking photo's, pedestrians now have a purpose.
  • Tthey shot a rocket at the NPC it destroyed the front of the shop leaving a hole in the wall and set the body flying through the area, eventually hitting the ground in a lifeless clump.
  • Tanks supposedly surrounded them.
  • They played both versions (PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360) and said there's no difference between the two.
  • Police have lines of sight so hiding in alley ways and roofs is possible though you must still get out of the radius.
  • Rowing Boats are confirmed as they used them to escape from the police after setting fire to hot dog stands.
  • Rockstar hinted at the amusement park having loads to do within it.

Persona 4 Announced for PlayStation 2


I was hoping to see the next Persona title arrive on the PlayStation 3, but that doesn't seem to be the case. The latest issue of Famitsu magazine revealed Persona 4. The official website is launching on March 24, 2008. The site can be accessed here (http://p4.atlusnet.jp), but currently does not work. Here is a breakdown of the information we have thanks to Akayuki.
- Trailer on DVD.
- July 10th release.
- 85% Complete.
- Looks like Persona 3 but better.
- 180+ Personas.
- Hashino is directing, Soejima is art director and character designer, Meguro is composing.
- Takes place in the countryside, a more nostalgic environment.
- The theme is murder mystery/suspense, it’s a mystery thriller with twists and turns.
- Multiple endings.
- 1.5x the size of Persona 3.
- 60-70 hours.
- There is a weather forecast system, and whenever there is a fog, a murder occurs.
