CVG's Perfect PLAYSTATION Store

It's not just us who want a better PLAYSTATION Store. We all know (except for diehard fanboys) that the PLAYSTATION Store has some major catching up to do. With the Xbox 360's last dashboard update, their Marketplace was improved even more, making the PLAYSTATION 3's look like dust.

They state that the PLAYSTATION Store needs streamlined browsing, meaning going down a list rather then going from page to pages of icons. Sony needs to start bringing out demos for every arcade game they release on the PLAYSTATION Store, or there is no way to test it out to see if you like it.

About PSone Games, they say it deserves it's own tab and better game profiles that display pictures (enlargable) so we can see some of the games we've never heard of. Also to get as constant as Japan with the PSone game updates.

They would like some pad-friendly operation, meaning that we can stream throw the tabs easily with the d-pad and what not. They want those giant panels on the top of the store removed as well, stating ads should be on the right of the store, and that upper piece can go to better use.

They say a flash driven store would be nice, but I'd rather have it built directly built into the console. That would make it easier to update, and it wouldn't be so slow considering it's not a web page. Throw in PLAYSTATION Network updates every day with that, and we got a winner.

They have a few other ideas, you can check it out at the link below.

Codemasters Backs PLAYSTATION 3 Ten-Year Cycle

If your not one to beleive Sony Computer Entertainment when they say the PLAYSTATION 3 will last a decade while most last for six or so years, then you should listen to Codemasters.

Rod Cousens, CEO of Codemasters tells us not to take Sony lightly. He beleives the PLAYSTATION 3 will last ten strong years and feels that the momentum is building up with this years hot new titles.

“I certainly think it’s premature to dismiss Sony because I believe that they’re only now showing signs of ramping up and that shouldn’t come as any surprise to people given the trail of to be released dates of Wii and 360 and given the price points that they were coming in at, and given the lack of software supporting the format. I believe all those ingredients are starting to merge and I would expect Sony to have real momentum over the coming years." Rod Cousens told Next-Gen.biz.

Good to see Codemasters agrees with Sony, and so do we.
