PSU Reviews Warhawk 9.5/10

PlayStation Universe has reviewed Warhawk and has given it a 9.5/10. Here is a list of their Pro's and Con's of this PlayStation 3 multiplayer game.

Pros
  • Simplistic menus and descriptions will help anyone become a server host and ranked pilot.
  • There's a ton of ranks, ribbons and medals to earn.
  • Graphics are beautifully enticing.
Cons
  • Steep learning curve without documentation or tutorials.
  • Only works on one PSN account if you download it.

IGN Reviews Tekken 5 Online 7/10

IGN has reviewed Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection with it's latest online patch. They scored it a 7.0/10. Their closing comments.

It's great to see Dark Resurrection Online rectify the missing online component from March's launch of the title with an added patch. However, for what you pay for the patch, you're not really receiving a huge return on your investment. Apart from the offline Survival mode, there's no additional content to be found or unlocked. Online play, while fun, is relatively generic and nothing that you haven't seen before. It's still a decent thing to have, but you're not really experiencing the best add on packs that the PSN has to offer.

GameSpot Reviews Lair 4.5 out of 10

Hear comes another roaring Lair review. And.. you guessed it, it's another bad one. GameSpot scores lair a disappointingly low 4.5 out of 10. The only goods they stated was 'Strong production values.'. They had many bads though:

  • Abysmal controls and targeting are a constant struggle and crush every aspect of gameplay, from flight to combat
  • The cinematic camera causes you to lose your bearings by zooming around every which way
  • Timed mission objectives require too much precision
  • Action is shallow and unrewarding.

Killzone 2 "Impossible" on any Other Console

Due to memory demands on Killzone 2, it is impossible to bring it to a console using standard DVD discs:

"Xbox 360 doesn't have Blu-ray," Hermen Hulst, managing director at Guerilla explains, "PlayStation 3 does. [A single level] is 2GB. We really need Blu-ray to make the game. I don't know how you could fit it on Xbox 360 without taking some shortcuts".

Loot Ninja: Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix Scores 4/5

Loot-Ninja has reviewed Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix and they scored it with a great 4/5. They claim the 360 version has a higher advantage though only because of the achievements, which I understand. Other than that, both versions are exactly the same.

Puzzle Fighter HD Remix was a much anticipated release that has been talked about for months. The release of it on both the PS3 and Xbox 360 poses a dilemna for those that have multiple systems and can’t decide.

Loco Roco Details: A Screensaver/Game

Like we said two days ago, the game will be released on September 21st in Japan. The price of the game will be ¥800 which is around $6.90 in USD. The file will weigh in at around 191MB. Now we have details about the actual game.

The game is an interactive screensaver with over 200 Loco Rocos on the screne at once to play with, using the SIXAXIS of course. The point of the game is to collect as much as you can and lead them to the goal.

There are three mini-games to multiply the number of blobs you have. There will also be online leaderboards, to see how your Loco Rocos are doing around the world, including a time attack option.

Final Fantasy VII: Kaz Hirai Says the "Best" Is Yet to Come

To celebrate the Final Fantasy VII 10th Anniversary, Square Enix had a Final Fantasy VII 10th Anniversary Gallery in Tokyo. The exhibition is on display until September 2nd in the Spiral Garden and features original art and illustrations for Final Fantasy VII and its spin-offs. Sony Computer Entertainment honcho Kaz Hirai was also in appearance and wrote an English note on the message board (above), which reads:

Congratulations on 10 fantastic years! The best is yet to come.
If by "best" they mean a game that is not a spin-off, then put me in line for that. Hopefully this means a remake. But we cannot assume it just from that. Perhaps Kaz knows something we don't? Gallery at the link.

EU PlayStation Store Update August 31, 2007

Weird day to update, usually Europe gets their updates on a Thursday. They seemed to receive it today though. Anyway, heres the update:

Demos
  • Colin McRae: Dirt (Demo)
Videos
  • Jed Ashforth Interview (Video)
Trailers
  • All the Kings Men (Blu-ray Trailer)
That seems to be it, kind of a bad update again for Europe. Come on Sony, stop giving them crappy updates. Make it fair for everyone.

Haze: Now Fully PS3 Exclusive

Ubisoft has told GameSpot that First Radical's sci-fi first-person shooter Haze is now being planned solely for Sony's PlayStation 3 platform.

The game was originally slated for a PlayStation 3 release with the Xbox 360 and PC release following. Ubisoft announced that the PS3 had become the "lead platform" for the title and that the game would be released in November only for the PS3.

The Official Haze Site right now only shows the game listed as a PlayStation 3 title.

1UP: Lair Scores Another Low 6/10

We have another review for Lair just coming in from 1UP and it seems it is another low one, scoring a 6/10. 1UP concludes:

As you'd expect of a fantasy-flight sim brimming with volcanic vistas and foreboding cumuli swarming with winged reptiles -- and all from the tech-Jedi developers of the Rogue Squadron series -- Lair fills you with swoony wonder. Unfortunately, it'll also make you wonder what the hell's going on. Because along with the clash-of-thousands battles and Peter Jackson-esque production values comes strictly nonstick motion control and a confounding combat system.
