The Orange Box: Patch 1.10 Released

After what seems like months of waiting, Electronic Arts and Valve Software finally released a patch for The Orange Box on the PlayStation 3. The patch is labeled as v1.10 and is 128MB in size. We are not sure if it fixes any of the problems, but are installing it as I write this. We will keep you updated.

Update: We've been messing around with the game for a bit, but we haven't really seem to found anything new.

Grand Theft Auto IV Rated M by the ESRB

Well, nearly a month before it's release, the Entertainment Software Rating Board has given Grand Theft Auto IV an M for Mature rating. It was rated Mature for "Partial Nudity, Strong Language, Strong Sexual Content, Use of Drugs and Alcohol, Blood, and Intense Violence." By record, this is the most amount of "bad things" included in a Grand Theft Auto game since the first one came out on the PSone.

I guess they held off on an Adults Only rating considering the Manhunt 2 controversy and the Hot Coffee modification for the PC version of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

Bionic Commando: Hiking in the Park Trailer

Capcom released a new "Hiking in the Park" trailer for their upcoming Bionic Commando for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The beginning had me thinking I was watching a high-tech Spider-Man for a second, but once he landed, thats where the action started. Enjoy!

RadioShack Grand Theft Auto IV Page Misleads

The Grand Theft Auto IV special game page on RadioShack seems to be a bit misleading. Under the "Additional Xbox 360 Features" section, they have the exclusive episodes (which aren't released till later this year) and it also says "Go online to play multiplayer and experience hours of additional gameplay". We know that this is present in both versions of the game however.

What we learned. RadioShack is not a (good) game retailer.

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 Online Having Issues on PlayStation 3

What? Did you expect a PlayStation 3 game to release multiplatform with no issues? It seems Ubisoft's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is having online issues with the PlayStation 3. Many users (here and here) are reporting receiving error messages when trying to join a game. There is no word if the Xbox 360 is experiencing the same issues. We will try to forward this to Ubisoft and see if they could patch it.

Legacy of Kain & Pandemonium Rated for PlayStation Network

The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) has rated two more PSone Classics for the PlayStation 3 and PSP to arrive on the PlayStation Network.

These two titles are Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain and Pandemonium! from Eidos Interactive. When will these titles arrive? We are not sure. All we know is that we are still waiting for the other titles rated by the ESRB, such as Street Fighter Alpha.

HAZE Exclusiveness Gets Hazy Once More

You think they would have made up their mind by now. After confirming HAZE will never see the light of day on another console, Ubisoft is back saying otherwise. According to a spokesperson for Ubisoft, HAZE is " ...exclusive on the PS3 for now."

Make up your mind Ubisoft!

Scott Steinburg: Resistance 2 is 50GB

Sony Computer Entertainment's Scott Steinberg and Evan Wells sat down with Geoff Keighly at GameTrailers TV and talked Blu-Ray, and how Sony will win the console war in 2008. Regarding Resistance: Fall of Man 2, he says that its about 50GB. Enjoy!

Ninja Theory Working on Brand New Multiplatform IP

Developers of PlayStation 3 exclusive title, Heavenly Sword, are working on a "triple-A blockbuster" concept that it plans to create for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Ninja Theory's co-founder Nina Kirstensen also says the company may have a movie in the works, in complete CGI "using the game engine alongside the game itself." Sounds interesting.

Codemasters: HEI$T Dated for Late June

HEI$T publisher Codemasters confirmed today that the game will be releasing late June 2008. “I’ve got HEI$T slated for late June,” a company representative stated.

Good to get a release date on it. If it's any good I may pick it up along with Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.

The Agency: New Details Emerge

Sony Online Entertainment has revealed some new details abou their upcoming PlayStation 3 and PC MMO, The Agency.

Matt Staroscik said the game is a shooter first and foremost. "Less experienced characters will be at a disadvantage, yes, but we are not like a traditional class-based MMO where your 89th-level Dark Paladruid can defeat an infinite number of noobs," Staroscik told us. "In The Agency, the noobs are going to get you - but you'll make them pay dearly."

In the game, you choose to play as either the UNITE spies or the ParaGON mercenaries, tackling missions using guile or gunpower. Eventually, you'll be able to set up your own agencies, get your own operatives, and such, giving a unique twist to the game.

"The operatives system is a grand multiplayer game of resource management and risk vs. reward - with hundreds of cool, collectible characters," he added.

"You'll send them out on assignments to gather intel, make them build things for you, and even have them help you in combat. As they work, they'll gain experience and new abilities. They'll also suffer health and morale hits, which you'll need to manage."

The Agency should be expected to arrive sometime this Fall 2008.
