Bunker Breeching in BlackSite: Area 51

Fight your way through an enemy encampment in the early stages of Midway Games' Blacksite: Area 51. This title will be releasing December 10, 2007 for the PLAYSTATION 3.

PLAYSTATION Home Beta Arriving November 29th?

Keen eye Shadowman540 over at the Official US PLAYSTATION Boards has spotted something interesting in the new "Only On PS3" ad campaign commercial.

If you'll notice, the screen where it displays the PLAYSTATION Store to the left there, it shows PAIN in the store already. PAIN is arriving in the PLAYSTATION Store on November 29, 2007.

Now if you'll also notice, it displays PLAYSTATION Home as well. Could this mean a possible Home beta is coming around the time of the PAIN release?

Uncharted to be In Stores Tomorrow?

Naughty Dog's Uncharted: Drake's Fortune seems to be pulling a Ratchet & Clank Future and shipping to stores earlier than expected. Many reports are suggesting that the game will be available at select retailers tomorrow. The GameStop online store is already shipping the game as a matter of fact.

A Sony PR stated that the game is not meant to be released early, and if you see it early, it's just a matter of stores breaking the street date. Either way, we still get our Uncharted goodness.

It seems Live is going to be receiving a Kane & Lynch: Dead Men demo soon as well. Sucks we didn't get it now, due to the Thursday updates only, if we have hope, we need to wait till next week.

Unreal Tournament III: PLAYSTATION 3 Lovin'

In a recent interview Eurogamer interview with Epic Games Vice President Mark Rein, he discussed the PLAYSTATION 3 version of Unreal Tournament III, and how it's receiving the love.

He states that the 360 version is coming out sometime next year, and they are still going for a late 2007 release for the PLAYSTATION 3 version of the game.

The reason it is going to have a delay in Europe is because the certification process in Europe takes longer, so blame them. The European version is also being tested in different languages in all these different countries, so they doubt it will be released this year.

He explains that the PLAYSTATION version of Unreal Tournament III is receiving so much loving because of the modifications. They can release any mods they want on PLAYSTATION 3 because it's an open system, whereas Xbox Live is a closed system. They are also thinking about selling some modifications as well:

"Because yeah, all the mods in the top 10 of the last Make It Unreal could have been games in their own right, and that's something we're hoping to do with UT3. We're thinking of selling them over the Playstation Network, or Xbox Live, just anything to let these guys make some money from their projects."
He also reveals there is a new Make It Unreal coming as well, for development of modifications.

Ghostbusters: Multiplayer & Screenshot

More information on Ghostbusters today, first off, a new screenshot, located on the left. To make it bigger, just give it a click. Kind of weird because the guy is standing on the side of a building and sucking in a ghost.

Vivendi Games has confirmed that the game will feature both multilplayer and co-op. Wonder what that will be like?

The Orange Box Still Coming December 2007

It seems that the recent report of Valve Software's The Orange Box (containing Half Life 2, Team Fortress 2, Portal, etc.) being delayed to January 2008, is untrue.

A represenative for Electronic Arts has confirmed to VideoGamer.com that the PLAYSTATION 3 version of the Valve Software title will hit stores in December, although an exact release date is still to be determined.

Dynasty Warriors 6: Profit from PLAYSTATION 3 Version

Here is another way to get the PLAYSTATION 3 fanboys to gloat (just not here, please). Dynasty Warriors 6 is selling like hotcakes in Japan (I've never seen anyone sell hotcakes), number 2 on the top 10 chart for this week.

The PLAYSTATION 3 version has sold 188,000 copies while the Xbox 360 version, currently number 5 on the top 10, has sold a mere 22,000 copies.

On a side note, Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction is number 10 on the top 10 with 12,000 copies sold this week.

Turok: PLAYSTATION 3 & Xbox 360 Versions Are Identical

According to a Gameplayer preview of Propaganda Games' upcoming dino-event of 2008 title, Turok, both versions of the title look exactly the same. They write:

"So here it is: the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game play identically. Yes, you read that right, Propaganda Games has the Unreal Engine 3 working on the PS3 and not only does it look quite stunning, swapping Gears of War’s desolate Sera for a tropical paradise terrorized by geckos that can bite your head off, but it glides along as smoothly as a silk scarf off a baby’s bum. At multiple points during our six hours in front of the game we jumped between the consoles on the fly and there wasn’t a performance issue in sight. And any reviewer will tell you straight up, that just hasn’t been happening with most multi-format releases!"
Could this be one of the few titles lessening the difference between both consoles? Will other developers follow their doings? Time will tell, but it's good to hear that this title won't be taking sides.

Turok is releasing in February 2008 from TouchStone and Propaganda Games.

Famitsu: White Knight Story Armor Scan

The latest issue of Famitsu reveals some new armor information on Level 5's upcoming PLAYSTATION 3 RPG, White Knight Story.

The change of equipment can be seen in the new scan from the Japanese magazine. The armors and clothing can be modified and will have a visual impact anytime but during the cinematics, where the heroes will sport their basic look.

This breath-taking RPG is planned for a 2008 release exclusively on the PLAYSTATION 3.
