PLAYSTATION 3 Rising In North America

When the 40GB PLAYSTATION 3 launched in Japan, it was an immediate success. Then on November 2, 2007, the 40GB PLAYSTATION 3 launched in North America. Was it a success?

Since the launch, the PLAYSTATION 3 sales have rose greatly. However, Sony never officially came out and gave confirmation on the 40GB PLAYSTATION 3’s success in North America.

Sony has revealed that sales of the 40GB and even 80GB models have “more than doubled” overall in North America. Highlighting on the exact numbers, Sony mentioned that the sales has increased by 192% in the top ten retailers in North America. This is all great news for Sony, but it must be noted that Sony should definitely increased the number of units shipped per month. In October, the Nintendo shipped 519,000 units of the Wii while Microsoft shipped 366,000 units. This is in comparison to the mere 121,000 shipped PS3 units.

Lets see how it does this time for Christmas 2007.

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 Is Coming to PLAYSTATION 3

Yesterday, there was a rumor about Rainbow Six Vegas 2 not coming to the PLAYSTATION 3, due to the Ubisoft UK site only listing the game as PC and Xbox 360.

Today, a forum member of the Ubisoft forums made a post, asking:

"Why is it only listed as 360 and PC? This is 4 PS3 as well right? Obviously that's the assumption since you're announcing it here. Could you confirm because the rumors are already flying that this is a 360/Windows exclusive."
MS-Kleaneasy, a forum manager, replied to his post saying:
"This weeks press release………"
He goes to show the press release for the announcement of Rainbow Six Vegas 2, bolding the part that states:

Is This The PLAYSTATION 3 Birth Place?

Ever wonder where your shiny, glossy PLAYSTATION 3 was created? Well, if these pictures from a Chinese forum are real, CSR Asia says that they allegedly show a Chinese PS3 factory in action.

That means our PLAYSTATION 3's where made in what looks like a deluxe garage. Me, I've always pictured robotic arms putting all the pieces together, but I guess I was wrong.

Konami Not Set-Up for Multi-Platform

Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 is a great game, although it does have some major issues on the PLAYSTATION 3 due to bad porting from the Xbox 360 version.

They are starting to rethink their actions from here on. Pro Evolution boss, Seabass Takatsuka admitted they're a little behind the times:

As a developer, we've worked the same way since the days of the SNES. We're simply not set up for multi-platform development.
Seabass promised that Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 will bring major improvements, hopefully making them equal for both consoles.
