Red God of War Themed PSP Bundle Coming This Summer

Even more news comes in from Destination PlayStation. Along with the Metal Gear Solid 4 bundle, Sony will be offereing a special red God of War themed PlayStation Portable bundle in June.

The God of War bundle will come with God of War: Chains of Olympus, a UMD version of one of the greatest comedy movies, Superbad, and a gift certificate for a PlayStation Store downloadable game. This will go for $199 and launch around the summer. Just a note, that image to the left isn't what it will actually look like.

I played the demo (did you know you can download the demo from the PSN Store?) and it's incredible.

I did notice a bit of slow-down at certain points in the demo but it's the closest I've seen to actually playing a PS2 game on the PSP. The graphics were insane.

Now, I wonder if the PSP Slim will get rid of those slow-down issues thanks to the extra RAM. If so then it would make sense that future games will rely on the extra memory and optimize games to run on the PSP Slim.

I've been putting off on upgrading to the Slim but this new GoW pack might finally get me to come around. Not sure I'm really digging the red but I'll upgrade to a black or silver PSP Slim when the game hits the shelves.

Rip it into an ISO, games will then load faster. Not sure if it will stop any slowdown during the game, but it may depending on what the root of the cause is.
