Let's get this straight: MS is not a entertainment company, right? Right. Sony, on the other hand, has its toes deep in the water of movies, television, and music.
Sony's multi-tiered music groups include BMG Music includes Arista, Jive, Columbia, Epic, LaFace and more. Combined they have artists like Alisha Keys, Sean Kingston, Shakira, J. Lo, John Mayer, Natasha Bedingfield, Good Charlotte, Tenacious D, George Michael, Jessica Simpson, Beyonce, and some of the BIGGEST names (love 'em or hate 'em) like Jacko, Tony Bennett, and Celine Dion.
So why is it that they seem to have so much trouble releasing SingStar in the US? Even though it's in the UK why do they have trouble updating it with new content? Rock Band is releasing several songs each week.
Rock Band, in my opinion, is way harder to make a game for as they have to sync up the background graphics to match the song as well as create complex rhythm segments for the guitar. SingStar is nothing more than a karaoke game with the real music video in the background.
I don't mean to diss Sony but with SingStar taking so long to come to the US and get regularly updated in the UK shows the lack of synergy between the different divisions of Sony.
*exit soapbox*
Love the SingStar UI. Nice boxart too.
