Grand Theft Auto IV: Best Buy's Three New Images

The official Best Buy page for Grand Theft Auto IV reveals three new (small) images of the upcoming title. Once we have high resolution versions of these, we will be sure to post them, but as of now, we must suffer. PLAYSTATION 3 80GB Disappearing from Online Retailers

The PLAYSTATION 3 80GB has recently been discontinued from retailer Best Buy. Yesterday, the 80GB model disappeared from their online store. As of today, online retailer Fry's has also removed the 80GB model from their store.

Stores like Wal-Mart, Target, and Circuit City still seem to have it in stock. Sony refuses to comment on the removal of the 80GB PLAYSTATION 3. An announcement will probably be made within the next few days.

Best Buy Discontinuing 80GB PLAYSTATION 3s

It seems that electronic retailer, Best Buy, are discontinuing the 80GB PLAYSTATION 3. A new e-mail to Best Buy employees confirms this. "The 80GB version of the PS3 is going closeout and won't be replaced at this time," it reads. "It will come off the planogram on Jan. 28. The 60GB version should already be gone from stores. Only the 40GB version of PS3 will be sold in Best Buy stores at this time."

Currently, the 80GB is the only version that supports backwards compatibility, extra USB slots, and memory card slots as well. The 40GB version lacks those features.

Currently, the 40GB costs $399 and is the cheapest available. The 80GB costs $499. There has been rumors of the 40GB dropping to $299 with a new white model coming as well. The end of this e-mail states "At this time, Sony hasn't made any announcements about new products." The big words are "At this time". Seems Sony is in for some changes.

Best Buy: PS3 Black Friday Deal Includes Free NBA 08

Black Friday, the time of deals and savings so you can have a few extra bucks to buy a hot dog. Best Buy is offering a nice deal for you sports fans.

Best Buy will have the 40GB PLAYSTATION 3 (includes Spider-Man 3 on Blu-Ray) for sale for $399 including a free copy of Sony's NBA 08 and Open Season on Blu-Ray.

To make things sweeter, Best Buy will be offering EA Sports' Madden NFL 07 for a mere price of $9.99.

These deals are only available on November 23 and 24, 2007.

$399 PlayStation 3 Confirmed at Best Buy?

Tipsters are good people. Thanks to him, Engadget has a couple of Best Buy documents showing a $399 Playstation 3 with 40GB disk and Spiderman 3 on Blu-Ray bundle with an "In Stock Date" of October 28, 2007.

The model name of the supposed PlayStation 3, CECHG01, is not listed anywhere in the documents though. This could be fake and is still not confirmed by Sony.
