Patrick Redding spoke on the upcoming Far Cry 2 at the recent Play.com Live 2008 event. He stated the game should be arriving in early fall of this year. He stated that, sadly, there will be no demo prior to the release of the game, since it would take away too much time from development. Perhaps after?

Far Cry 2 Multiplayer: 16-Player Deatmatch & Advanced Map Editor
At the recent Play.Com Live event, developers of Far Cry 2 spoke on the games multiplayer functionalities.
The game will support 16-player matches on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC versions. The game will include your basic multiplayer modes such as Team Deathmatch, Deathmatch, Capture The Flag, and more.
Whats really cool is this new map editor that they are bringing to the console and PC versions. Far Cry 2 will let you do whatever you want in the game's map editor, such as reshaping terrain, moving around objects and vegetation, etc. Then, you can share your maps online. No information on how they would be shared though.
Far Cry 2 sounds more promising every time. When more information comes in on this highly anticipated shooter, we will be sure to have you updated.

Crysis Warhead Filed for Trademark
Crytek has patented the name Crysis Warhead. Not Electronic Arts, Crytek did it. What could it be? Many things. It could be a sequel to the PC edition of the game, or a console adaption from the PC version of the game. The game wasn't made to be a trilogy, so it could mean a console adaption. Considering the fact of all the rumors that rose and that they've optimized the CryEngine2 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, it's highly probable.
When we find out more we will let you know.

PSW Knows Crysis Is Coming to PlayStation 3
The latest issue of UK magazine, PSW, features an article stating that "it's no secret Crysis is coming to PS3". They explain the upcoming PlayStation 3 version will have aspects of the sequel, and is not a direct port. Let's take a look at the article.
"First up, we have Crysis. Now it's no secret that Crysis is coming to PS3 this year. The excitable, hard-worked coders over at Crytek have said as much in many interviews - they've even produced a new, multi-platform engine in readiness - but the real juice here is that it won't be a straight conversion of the PC game. We understand PS3 Crysis will be an almost 50% new game, with many of the original games staff taken off PC Crysis months before release to begin to work on Crysis 2 and a port to PS3 that will include aspects of the sequel - but a new structure, environments, weapons and enemies will feature on PS3. This should be one of the year's biggest console shooters."So, new enemies, environments, and more? Until we get an official confirmation, we are going to label this baby a rumor.

EDGE Magazine Features New Far Cry 2 Information
Far Cry 2 was recently announced to be coming to the next-generation consoles known as the PLAYSTATION 3 and Xbox 360, with no details about the game given. The latest issue of EDGE corrects that mishap.
The gameplay is going to rehaul the type you saw in the original Far Cry game, and feature a new leveling up system. When you being the game, you'll become infected with malaria. As the game goes on, you discover a medicine that cures your disease, and the more you take, the more resistant you come to getting injured. If you loose access to the medication, things may become unpleasent, and quickly. Description: your character will turn into a vicious vomiting mutant.
Also new to this title is a reputation system. Your actions will influence your stance with two bands of rebels. The mapin point of the game is to murder a powerful arms dealer, but you need to prove your self a worth ally to one of the rebel groups. As you gain popularity with the group, more comrades will join you in battle and even help defend you when your surrounded by the gun.
More information on this game as it comes.

Crysis Really, Actually, For Real, Coming to PLAYSTATION 3?
Rumors of a PLAYSTATION 3 version of Crysis have been going around for quite a while now. Insiders at the Crytek studio are revealing that Crysis is in development for PLAYSTATION 3. They describe it as a port of the PC version with some extra modes and features, sort of like a Crysis 1.5.
Just like the PC version, you can expect beautiful visuals and an open world shooter. If this is true, that means you can expect many great shooters for PLAYSTATION 3 this year, including KILLZONE 2, Resistance 2, HAZE, Crysis, and more.
They state for tecnical reasons, they were not able to develop a version of Crysis for the Xbox 360.

Crysis Now Playable on a PLAYSTATION 3 with StreamMyGame
A new program for Linux on the PLAYSTATION 3 was released today called StreamMyGame. What does it allow you to do? Play PC games on your PLAYSTATION 3.
The StreamMyGame server is free and works by remotely converting the game’s video and audio into a Game Stream and sending it over your LAN network to a second compute, laptop, or Linux enabled PLAYSTATION 3. Then the PC games can be played on your console without any lag. Somebody called for Crysis?
"Playing the latest PC game on the PS3 is now a reality at HD resolution and fast frame-rates," said Richard Faria CEO. "I have a PS3 in my living room and PC in my office and my two kids both have old PCs in their bedrooms," he said. "Now we can play games anywhere around the home. StreamMyGame's technology networks the power of a main PC so it can be used to play high end games on other PCs, PS3s and Linux devices".
Currently, you can only use StreamMyGame over a LAN network, but it is being expanded to broadband in March this year. Check it out at the link below.

Crysis: May Come to PLAYSTATION 3 & Xbox 360
"Console gamers hopes of playing Crysis on PS3 or Xbox 360 may rest on the success of the PC version of the title" says Crytek boss Cevat Yerli.
While Yerli told Game Informer “there is no development on consoles” for the time being, he did say that if the game was well received on PC it would boost the possibility of the shooter appearing in console form.
“What happens next we haven’t decided yet, because first we want to see how the game is received, publicly and critically… We believe it will be received at least as strong as Far Cry. I hope personally a 5% average increase… That would give us an argument to [say], ‘OK, let’s see how we can bring Crysis to consoles’. The engine right now is running on consoles so there’s no reason why we couldn’t.”
While Yerli noted that console shooters were still half a decade behind PC shooters, he spoke of ways in which Crysis could successfully be translated to next-gen systems.
“In order to make Crysis’s gameplay [on console] you would have to make a derivative Crysis and optimize it for the Xbox 360 and PS3. In fact, if we do it, we’ll optimize it for each platform… If we would bring it to console we would keep the sophistication. … We would not dumb down the experience.
“The AI and our gameplay dynamic is our heart. We can’t change that. If you change that, you lose Crysis… You have to work it on the UI level, on the level design level, but do not change the heart. If the game is too difficult, make sure the UI can compensate for it. Or if the AI is too difficult make sure the level design offers more leeway and covers for the player. But the core gameplay is intensive, smart and still challenging.”
The highly anticipated FPS will be released for PC on November 16.
