Rumor: TGS 07 Shows Endless Crisis, Kingdom Hearts PS3 [Update]

With the approach of Tokyo Game Show which will begin on September 20, 2007 for the press and industry, here is the latest rumor from the famous Japanese forum 2ch, which lists new Square Enix titles for the show, like Endless Crisis: Final Fantasy VII on PlayStation 3, three new episodes of the series Kingdom Hearts to be appeared on PlayStation 3, Nintendo DS, and PSP. Nothing official for the moment, but were waiting patiently, we will know some more information in a few hours when the first information coming from the Japanese magazines Famitsu & Shonen Jump is uploaded online. Here are the titles.

- Endless Crisis: Final Fantasy VII (PlayStation 3)
- Final Fantasy XIII (PlayStation 3)
- Final Fantasy Versus XIII (PlayStation 3)
- Kingdom Hearts (temporary title) (PlayStation 3)
- Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories 2 (Nintendo DS)

Square Enix Floor Plans for TGS 2007

In a recent picture shown to us at the official TGS website, a picture of the map of the building where TGS is being held, there is a room reserved for Kingdom Hearts. Wonder whats in the room? Maybe Kingdom Hearts III, Kingdom Hearts PSP? It translates too:

Rumor: New Jak & Daxter PlayStation 3 Title on the Way? [Update 9/1/07]

According to user FamilyGuy1 on the PS3Forums, the latest issue of EGM (October 2007) contains some juicy information. On page 60, in a box titled "Q-Tips", it says:

"Bummed developer Naughty Dog's first PS3 title isn't a Jak and Daxter game? Well, you shouldn't be, my spies say they're making it next."

Could they know something that we don't know? I think so, we'll just have to wait and see if this could be "the lost frontier".

Also in the rumors, we have a section about a Kingdom Hearts compilation. The section states:

"The Kingdom Hearts series gets the chests of Disney and Final Fantasy nerds pumping. But the lack of news about the series is likely giving these superfans a stroke. No need to get a medic - my mousey mole has some info that may pump 'em up: Square Enix is apparently planning a compilation of Kingdom Hearts prequels (similar to what it's doing with Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy XIII) on various systems and handhelds."

That would actually be pretty good to hold off till Kingdom Hearts III just as the compilation of Final Fantasy VII is holding us off till a remake.

Square Enix: No Kingdom Hearts PSP for Now

Lately it seems everyone has been about Petitions, whether it was Final Fantasy VII, Resident Evil, or this new one. One petition is about getting a Kingdom Hearts title on the PlayStation Portable, Square Enix responded.

According to petitioner Rafael Bernard, he sent Square Enix an email the other day and pointed out to the company the online petition he started. Currently, the total number of signatories is around 1,700 but Bernard mentioned that he is planning to gather some 18,000 more. He got a reply from a Square Enix representative:

Our parent company, Square Enix of Japan, has no current plans to create a sequel to Kingdom Hearts at this time. This is not to say that it will never happen, it's just that their development teams are currently focusing on numerous other projects, Namely Final Fantasy: Crisis Core and a few others.

Just on another Kingdom Hearts note, at this years Tokyo Game Show, Tetsuya Nomura will be revealing the next Kingdom Hearts.

Quartermann: Kingdom Hearts Prequels Coming

Square Enix has been silent about the Kingdom Hearts franchise for a while now. In the latest issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly (hitting shelves September 4) Quartermann is abuzz about a series of prequels currently in-the-works for a number of consoles and handhelds. Something like the Final Fantasy VII Compiliation series.
