TGS 2007: Interview with Loco Roco's Tsutomu Kouno

JoyStiq had the opportunity to catch up with the creator of Loco Roco, Tsutomu Kouno, and ask him a few questions about his newly released sequel, Loco Roco Cocoreccho. The interview was conducted along with Spencer Yip from Siliconera. They asked him what his inspirations were, why he decided to develop an "interactive screensaver" and whether there will be any downloadable content in the future. LocoRoco Cocoreccho! Next Thursday

Sony has revealed the European date release for it's upcoming interactive screensaver, Loco Roco Cocoreccho. It's the one that's an interactive screensaver rather than a fully-fledged game, remember - and will cost GBP 1.99 (EUR 2.92) to download.

It will come on while your sitting there doing nothing on your PlayStation 3 and you can guide your little butterfly around the map using the SIXAXIS.

Loco Roco Details: A Screensaver/Game

Like we said two days ago, the game will be released on September 21st in Japan. The price of the game will be ¥800 which is around $6.90 in USD. The file will weigh in at around 191MB. Now we have details about the actual game.

The game is an interactive screensaver with over 200 Loco Rocos on the screne at once to play with, using the SIXAXIS of course. The point of the game is to collect as much as you can and lead them to the goal.

There are three mini-games to multiply the number of blobs you have. There will also be online leaderboards, to see how your Loco Rocos are doing around the world, including a time attack option.

LocoRoco PS3 Dated

We have some news on LocoRoco PS3. In the latest issue of Famitsu, the game is listed in Famitsu as an action title, complete with online rankings.

There are some major differences from the PSP version. You take control this time of a butterfly, or perhaps a group of butterfiles, known as "Cocoreccho." By pressing the circle button, you can make the Cocoreccho shout "boo boo." This makes the sleeping LocoRoco in your area wake up and come to you. Your goal is to lead the LocoRoco to the stage's goal.

The game is going to be a PlayStation Store download, and should be out in Japan on September 21, 2007. No other dates have been said. Pricing is not yet available.
