THQ and Volition have released a new trailer of the upcoming Saints Row 2. The new trailer is an ad for the Ultor Corporation who want to help rebuild Stillwater. The trailer shows the "rare" occasions where thugs come out and play. Enjoy!

Saints Row 2 Boxart & Collector's Edition Sneaks onto Amazon

Checking out Amazon lately, I've come across the boxart for THQ's upcoming Saints Row 2, and it's more orange than ever. I thought this game's color was supposed to be purple? Well, that sure shows a bit on the gold on the collector's edition box as well. We have no idea on what is in the collector's edition, although. We can say the box is nice, though.

By the way, why is it that if you search Saints Row 2 for the first time on Amazon, it shows the Xbox 360 versions of Saints Row 2, Saints Row, Grand Theft Auto IV, Mafia II, Gears 2, and many others before finally getting to the PlayStation 3 versions of Saints Row 2? Last I checked, those titles didn't have the words "Saints" and "Row" in them.

Saints Row 2: Release, Pre-Order Plans, Uncle Gary

At THQ's Gamers' Day down in San Francisco today, they announced the official release date for Saints Row 2. The game should be shooting up stores on August 26, 2008. Starting tonight, gamers can pre-order their copy of the game from the newly launched official website. They also released a new video where they show us the art of throwing someone from a man they are calling Uncle Gary.

Saints Row 2: Co-Op Video Interview

In a new video interview with Saints Row 2 Lead Designer, James Tsai, he shows the cooperative mode of the game. The whole game can be played with a friend, regardless of whether your friend is ahead of you in the game, or your ahead of him, you can always go back. He mentions the fun of it is going on a complete criminal rampage in the city. He says in the near future, they will be showing off their new competitive multiplayer modes. Enjoy!

Volition and THQ released two new screenshots of their upcoming sequel, Saints Row 2. These come along with the new trailer released yesterday (that doesn't really tell us anything). The new screenshots are looking sharp. Enjoy!

Saints Row 2 Teaser Shows Countless Waves

A new teaser released today by Voltition and THQ for Saints Row 2 shows nothing but countless black waves moving through a purple background. You hear some audio of some of the Saints speaking, but that is pretty much it. Enjoy it, I guess.

Saints Row 2: Customization to the Max

In a new IGN preview for Volition's upcoming Saints Row 2, they reveal some new story details. After the bomb explodes, your kingpin managed to survive the explosion, facing serious cosmetic damage. You begin a new storyline and redesign your character at a doctor's office as if your getting surgery. You find out later that it was the top members of your gang that set you up to buy the farm, and you need to rebuild the gang, and get revenge.

The ganes we know as Los Carnales, the Vice Kings, and the Westside Rollerz are gone. New gangs are coming in. One of the gangs shown during the presentation were the Sons of Samedi. No background was given on them. Stillwater has gone through major changes as well.

You can now use cars as weapons. We are not talking about running enemies over, we are talking about turning your car into a bomb. Throw some fireworks in the hood, ditch it, and watch it blow.

Saints Row 2 has huge customization options. Everyone has the ability to change their face, eyebrow length, character's mouth, and such, but Volition is taking it further than just that. You'll be able to customize your character's taunt, compliment, walk, and combat styles as well. You also have the ability to upgrade your crib as well, adding objects such as a stripper pole or nicer electronics.

Saints Row 2: New Screenshots Look Fantastic

THQ threw out a couple of new screenshots today of Volition's upcoming Saints Row 2. The games really shaping up to look great, with buildings you can actually shoot, and great looking environments, it's one title I'm looking forward to. Enjoy!

The lucky writers of 1UP were able to get some new and exclusive images of Saints Row 2 from Volition and THQ.

As you can tell, this new title has a darker feel than the first game (if you played it). You can go from cars to boats to planes in this new title. We are really looking forward to it.

Saints Row 2: Character Customization, Online Co-Op Details

A new Games Radar preview has revealed some new information about Volition's upcoming Saints Row 2.

The character customization has been expanded in the upcoming sequel. This time, you can customize your genre, age, crib, and voice. Voice meaning you can walk the streets as a street high pitch speaker or a Tony Soprano Italian boss type speaker.

Saints Row 2 will also feature an online co-op mode which allow players to team up and take on the full single-player campaign. This is a big improvement over the one mission co-op mode in the previous title.

Other minor new features mentioned are weather effects, more responsive citizens, and more vehicles including motorcycles, helicopters, and planes.

Will this title compete with Grand Theft Auto IV? As many would most likely say, it probably won't be as good, but it sure will be fun.

Saints Row 2 Detailed: Co-Op, Building Interiors, Flying & Water Vehicles

A new feature over at Gameplayer brought in some new details on Volition's upcoming Saints Row 2.

The game will be adding a full story co-op multiplayer feature, meaning you and your friend can go through the entire game as a team.

Volition is throwing in a load of new vehicles including planes (hell yeah!), helicopters, jet-skis, speedboats, and of course, new cars. Best thing is, we can crash the planes and watch the concerned citizens scramble.

The city will focus majorly on building interiors as well, with over 130 of them throughout the city (which is 45% bigger than the city in Saints Row). Expect a review from us when this game is released, it sounds just too awesome.

You can now also take in hostages, and use them as human shields, and you can wield two weapons, or take things out of the environment for melee use.

Finally, the character customization has been enhanced greatly. You can even make transsexuals, pretty spooky though if you ask me. Makes you wonder about the developers.... just kidding.

Saints Row 2: First Details

Yes, we finally have the first details on the upcoming sequel to a great first game, Saints Row.

The events in this game are taking place years after the events in the first.

"The explosive conclusion to Saints Row has left the player wounded, betrayed and thirsty for revenge, and now it's time to take back the city that has forgotten him", says THQ.

It's making some huge promises about Saints Row 2 too, enthusing that the game's
"set to revolutionise player freedom and open world online gameplay" with an "expanded and fully transformed city and true open-world online multiplayer".

"Saints Row 2 will be playable online in two-player co-op through the entire single-player campaign or in the all new open-world competitive multiplayer mode never before seen in the genre", THQ's said further about multiplayer in the sequel.

On top of that, new vehicles, new locations and new customisation options - for the likes of gender, age, voice, crib and gang - are in the pipe.

"Saints Row 2 has a much darker and more sinister story that leads your character down a path of betrayal, revenge and redemption against the city that has left him for dead, although we've blended that with the same light-hearted humour from the original," Greg Donovan, lead producer, has whispered in our shell-like.

"Couple that with the most robust open-world feature set ever developed in the genre, and Saints Row 2 promises a gaming experience that will offer players the perfect balance of gripping narrative and compelling gameplay options."

Saints Row 2 to be Revaled in November Electronic Gaming Issue

XboxKings has received an e-mail today from Electronic Gaming telling them that the latest installment of the Saints Row series, Saints Row 2, will be revealed in next month's Electronic Gaming Monthly.

The first details will be given in an exclusive article about this free-roaming game.

Game Informer October 2007 Loose Talk
