Play.com Live: HAZE to Only Run at 30fps?

The guys over at Atomic Radio were able to attend the Play.com Live 2008 show at Wembley Stadium and got to play Free Radical's upcoming HAZE. The bottom right-hand corner of the screen told how many frames per second the game was running. It was just about 30. Whether it was only for the demo build, or the complete game, we do not know. We do know that either way, the game is still looking great.

This is news?

I didn't realise anyone was expecting all games to run at 60fps now. Pretty ridiculous.

More interesting and out of the ordinary is the complete lack of loadtimes.

I could care less about the framerate at this point of time, especially since its still under development.

What I am interested in seeing is some more gameplay footage of this at Play LIVE!

Seriously, someone made a video about its FRAMERATE only?

I can understand the 30fps vs. 60fps war when compared to (quite possibly the most addictive game on the PS3) Call of Duty 4 that runs as a buttery-smooth 60fps.

It just makes everything look and move that much better. When I play CoD4 it feels so much better then when playing a game at 30fps.

Not that a game can't be good at 30fps. Just ask anyone of the 8+ million that bought Halo 3. However, even the mighty Halo franchise is getting killed every week in terms of numbers of people playing Halo 3 online in comparison to CoD4.

While I think CoD4 is an overall better game and world than the Halo franchise I would like to think that part of the reason CoD4 is so successful is partially due to its speedy framerate.
