2K Boston Refuses to Announce PLAYSTATION 3 Game, Rule out Bioshock

2K Boston seems to not want to rule out the possibility of it's Xbox 360 exclusive title, Bioshock, coming to the PLAYSTATION 3.

Earlier this week, we found out that 2K Boston was look for programmers with Unreal Engine 3 and PLAYSTATION 3 experience on it's official site.

Of course, we are all going to point to Bioshock considering it's developed on the Unreal Engine 3. But then again many games are developed on this engine.

A spokesperson for 2K Boston stepped in and said The spokesperson added: "As usual in these matters we don't comment on Internet rumour and speculation."

They just don't seem to want to rule out the possibility of the game on the PLAYSTATION 3. Perhaps it is coming.

Ex-2K Boston Employees Forming New Studio?

Gamasutra's job board showed a job listing for a development studio being established in Bay Area of northern California by "creators of the award-winning 'Bioshock'." It seems now though, that the listing excludes the BioShock game reference.

To add to that, Surfer Girl blogged that many creators of the game did not want to work with Ken anymore saying "a good chunk of the BioShock team did not want to work with Ken [Levine] ever again" and that publisher 2K "let them set up a new studio so that they can make Bioshock 2, leaving Ken with Project X."

What does this new studio have to bring?

Bioshock Developers Again Shunning the PLAYSTATION 3?

Bioshock developer 2K Boston is yet again shunning the PLAYSTATION 3 for its next title, if an internet job listing is anything to go by.

The ad, which can be found on games recruitment site Gamasutra, calls out for a handful of art-centric jobs including lead artist, level builder and animator positions.

Crucially for internet conspiracy theorists though, 2K Boston only lists Xbox 360 and Windows as platforms for the title in question. So unless it's keeping quiet, PLAYSTATION 3 owners are yet again going to miss out.

2K Moderator: "There will be no PS3 version of BioShock"

Over at the official 2K Games forums, a user signed up to ask about a PLAYSTATION 3 version of Bioshock and if it is ever coming. A moderator replied to the topic:

"There will be no PS3 version of BioShock. It has been explained time, and time again."

Of course, the moderator may not work for 2K Boston's development, so who knows, it can still come.

vernon. The game that Microsoft canceled is Sufjan Stevens' episodic adaptation of every Marilyn Monroe film that was going be available weekly on Xbox Live Arcade starting July 4th, 2008. I have been told Stevens will produce his next game, an episodic adaptation of March 1994 episodes of The Oprah Winfrey Show, for the PS3, and says large storage capacity of Blu-Ray and hard drive will not hinder his creativity.

visconti. 2K Boston is working on a PS3 port of the greatest game to ever arise from Boston, Darkened Skye: Game of the Year, is loaded bonus content and Sixaxis support, revolutionary next-gen features and is scored by up-and-coming British pop act Circulus. Tasting of virtual rainbows is scheduled for spring.

scott. Legendary prog-rock band Jethro Tull have signed a multi-year agreement with THQ for interactive musical products based on the band, the first, developed by Volition, is an untitled action-packed sandbox WWII fluting title for Wii slated for release in June.

In attempt to outdo their previous out-of-place selections, Take-Two has announced that Major League Baseball 2K8 will feature a soundtrack entire composed of indie rock in other languages, tracks featured in the game include "Svefn-G-Englar" by Sigur Ros, "Du Ar For Fin For Mig" by Dungen, and "M'emmener au jeu de boule" by Air.

Capcom has revealed that the Wii version of Okami will feature Duran Duran's "Hungry Like a Wolf" as the theme song and will feature music from Sea Wolf ("You're a Wolf"), Wolf Parade, Wolf Eyes, Wolfmother, Peanut Butter Wolf, amongst others in order to connect with the modern gamer and ensure the game is successful this time around.

padgham. Also coming to the Wii is DaNcE DaNcE KLAXONS from Konami, which is described as "Dance Dance Revolution meets nu-rave act Klaxons." The game will "feature an adventure story mode in which you are a nineteen year old in 1992 London who has to rise to the top of the rave circuit and maintain fashionability and coolness and 'collect records,'" according to Klaxon Jamie Reynolds. The game will also allow players to download a copy of Klaxons' favorite game, 40 Winks to a Nintendo DS with a Wi-Fi connection.

She was also nice enough to update us with the Hindi translation of her post from yesterday. Warning: Don't read it if you don't want Resistance II spoiled.

Rumor: Bioshock Coming to PLAYSTATION 3 In 2008

Okay, this is classified as a rumor, considering the site has no background and it's a blog.

It's coming to the console has been suspected enough as it is, but today it's confirmed. 2K Boston supposedly let news slip out today that it's underwater Rapture title, Bioshock, is indeed coming to the PLAYSTATION 3.

According to the supposed slip, the game will be arriving in Spring 2008 (March, April, or May). A 2K Boston insider supposedly stated the project was always slated for a PLAYSTATION 3 release, but they needed the timed exclusivity to expire.

No word yet if anything extra will be included in the supposed PLAYSTATION 3 version.
