Afrika Gets Music Composer

For those of you thinking that Sony Computer Entertainment's upcoming wildlife game, Afrika, was gone, then fear not!

Thanks to 1UP, we've confirmed that Wataru Hokoyama, a Los Angeles-based composer who hasn't worked in the video game universe before, has recently hired a 104-piece orchestra to start laying down the symphonies to accompany Afrika.

Hopefully, it's not just a picture shooter, and more adventure is involved.

A new trailer for the PLAYSTATION 3's upcoming title, Afrika, appeared on YouTube today, which appears to be a mixtape trailer. No people, there will be no hunting in this game, sadly.

Test Drive Coming to PS3, Afrika "Non-Violent"

In Surfer Girl's latest post, she reveals some PLAYSTATION 3 related insider facts:

1) Eden Games is currently working on a new Test Drive title for a release late next year/early 2009 on PS3/360/PC, the game will use the open-world gameplay and online features seen in last year's Test Drive Unlimited.
2) Afrika is a "nonviolent game" with "positive social themes." Something certain to appease those who have always wanted to spell doom to fictional poachers without violence.
3) Three Wario games are in development.
4) Itadaki Street DS will see a release in the states sometime next year.

So we get a Test Drive and a nature animal game. I like the Test Drive, not the animals.

Famitsu: New Afrika Screenshots

Famitsu has a smattering of new screens for the PlayStation 3's upcoming "lions, tigers and bears, oh my!" safari title Afrika. The screens show off the tremendous rendering power of the PS3 -- each of those animals looks good enough to hunt to extinction for their precious bones and furs -- yet how exactly this whole thing is going to play remains a mystery.
