God of War III to Feature Online Play?

On SCEA's website there is a new job listing for an "Online Gameplay Programmer" for the team behind "the critically acclaimed AAA titles God of War and God of War II." Last I checked, nothing was announced from this studio besides the obvious God of War III. Will Kratos be heading to the online world?

GameStop Starting God of War III Pre-Orders Tomorrow

According to a source at GameStop, tomorrow, March 5, 2008, GameStop & EB Games stores will start taking reservations for Sony's upcoming God of War III.

It seems that now the new God of War: Chains of Olympus game is out on the PSP, SCEA has given GameStop the permission to start reserving God of War III.

Get those pre-orders in, it's going to be one hell of a game.

God of War III Ad in Chains of Olympus Retail Copies

IGN was lucky enough to receive some retail copies of God of War: Chains of Olymus on the PSP. It came with an ad that promises there is more to come on the PlayStation 3.

The ad basically states God of War III is coming to the PlayStation 3 soon. Soon means short, so can we expect this by the summer? Lets hope so.

This may be a mistake, but according to the list of games to be at the Game Developers Conference 2008 over at GameSpot, God of War III will be at the show.

Even though we have no idea if this is true, it still gets us more excited.

Rumor: God of War III Not Seeing Release Till 2009?

Games Radar and their "reliable sources" are at it again. According to a "reliable Sony source", Santa Monica Studios' God of War III won't be seeing release any time this year. They say the game will be completed around Christmas 2009, which is almost two years away from now. This is one rumor, we are going to hope is not true.

Cory Barlog Welcomes Back, Mentions God of War III

In a welcome back post from Cory Barlog on his official blog, he mentions the upcoming title by SCE Studios Santa Monica, God of War III. He writes.

"I know for the God of War fans out there it might be a bummer that I am not working on God of War 3 (or for some it may be a good thing I am not) but rest assured that it is all in good hands."

I ask as a fan and news reporter: Can we please get an official announcement with some screenshots? Please?

Rumor: God of War 3 Late 08', Mass Effect for PS3, More

The latest rumor mill on VideoGamer reports some new PLAYSTATION 3 rumors. These new rumors include God of War III and Mass Effect.

Next winter is looking like being one to remember for video game fans. Sony's Santa Monica studio is said to be hard at work on Kratos' next-gen debut. God of War III is most likely on it's way, according to VideoGamer. They rated it as a 3/5 chance of happening.

The next rumor is about Mass Effect. Speaking while on panel show Bonus Round, industry analyst Michael Pachter gave his opinion on where Mass Effect will end up in the future - not only on the Xbox 360. "Trust me, Electronic Arts, when they threw out the 300 million that is multiplatform that is not 360 only... I wouldn't be shocked if Mass Effect 1 came to PlayStation 3." They believe it will eventually come to the PLAYSTATION 3, but not before the Xbox 360 has seen a period of exclusivity.

The last rumor is about PLAYSTATION 3 Rockstar exclusive, L.A. Noire. Take Two released its results for the fourth quarter of its financial year. Missing on a forecast for titles for 2008 is Rockstar's LA Noire, causing people to believe that the secretive title won't be out until 2009. They write "While it's true that the game is missing from the forecast, Rockstar's financial year runs from November 1st to October 31st, meaning LA Noire could still see a release in November or December 2008."

EGM Rumors: God of War 3 for Holidays 2008, Skies of Arcadia Ressurection

The latest Electronic Gaming Monthly provides us some new rumors, one including a possible release for God of War III.

The rumor states that the next title in the God of War series, which has already been semi-announced, is already in production by SCEA's Santa Monica Studios. The rumor states that they are working their butts off to bring it to us by the 2008 holiday season, meaning if you see it, you'll see it wrapped.

Another rumor in this month's issue says Sega is planning on bringing back the Skies of Arcadia series. Hopefully we will see it on the PLAYSTATION 3.

God of War III Release Date Confirmed

The guys over at TheGameReviews were able to attend the Video Game Awards (lucky bastards). While there, they spoke with some of the developers of the upcoming God of War III.

They were able to confirm with them that the game will have a release date of 2009, hopefully early. The title will support 1080p and have SIXAXIS & rumble effects.

They had some more information, but unfortunately, they couldn't share it till a later date.

SCE Studios Santa Monica recently posted an auction of CharityFolks to win a chance to get a hands-on with an unannounced upcoming PLAYSTATION 3 title. Can anybody say God of War III?

According to the auction, the winning package includes a tour of the Santa Monica Studio, one on one time with the Gamer Director and Key Designers, and a playtest a portion of their unannounced title!

Considering the fact that Cory Barlog & David Jaffe had revealed tidbits of God of War III, that is probably what the title will be. Right now the auction is at $425.00. If you win, make sure you let us know what they are showing you.

God of War III Fan-Made Teaser

KazamaFury of GameTrailers posted up a fan-made trailer of the upcoming PLAYSTATION 3 title, God of War III. There is no footage of God of War III to be found, as that would be impossible at this state. The professional quality of it is astounding though. If you didn't know it was fan-made, you'd think it was the real deal.

Cory Barlog (GOW II Director) Leaving SCEA, Mentions GOW III

According 1UP, the video games website, Sony Computer Entertainment of America's Santa Monica Studios' game director Cory Barlog is leaving the studio.

Barlog was the famed director of God of War II, which was a hit nearly everywhere. Word is that Barlog is departing to follow other opportunities. According to a SCEA speaker:

"We can confirm that Cory Barlog, Game Director for God of War II, is leaving the SCEA SM Studio and we are grateful for his work and creative vision for the critically acclaimed God of War franchise... Moving forward, we are confident in the God of War team, as they are an extremely talented group of people that are passionate about the franchise and dedicated to creating even more epic content with God of War: Chains of Olympus for the PSP and God of War III for PS3."

It's sad to see a great director such as Cory Barlog leave the company. But wait, did you see what I saw there? Sony just publicly confirmed God of War III for the PLAYSTATION 3 console.

Can you say Kratos in 1080p with amazing graphics? I can. Ten times fast to be exact.
