Famitsu: Cross Edge Announced for PlayStation 3

The latest issue of Japanese gaming magazine, Famitsu, features a new game exclusively for the PlayStation 3, called Cross Edge.

The game, scheduled for a September 2008 release in Japan, is a collaboration between Idea Factory, Gust, Capcom, Namco Bandai, Nippon Ichi Software, and Compile Heart. Development is currently 70% done at the moment.

In Cross Edge, the main character wakes up in a messed up world with some other characters who don't belong there. The world they wake up in lives on feeding off people's souls from other worlds. If it is not stopped, the world which that soul comes from will cease to exist. Currently, only two of the worlds are known. One being The Underworld, which consists of soulds from Vampire/Darkstalker and Disgaea. The other being Dreamworld, consisting of souls from Ar Tonelico and Marie's Atelier. Disgaea 3 Announced for US

If Valkyria Chronicles coming to the States wasn't good enough, we have another PLAYSTATION 3 exclusive on it's way to our shores.

Nippon Ichi Software announced today that Disgaea 3 will be hitting the United States in August 2008 and that the game "makes a bold new step towards the next generation console with a whole new cast, story and game system."

No other details were mentioned besides that "plenty is due to arrive in the coming months."

Nippon Ichi Software Creating New Titles for PS3 & PSP

In a new interview with Nippon Ichi Software's Souhei Niikaw, he talked about Disgaea 3 and his NIS's plans for the future. Currently, the company is working on a few other adventure titles. They are even thinking about branching off to other genres rather than adventure and RPG. Niikaw states to look out in the future for more PLAYSTATION 3 and PSP titles they are working on.

New Disgaea 3 Japanese Scans

Disgaea 3 will be the first game in the series to be released on the PLAYSTATION 3 console. It is currently planned for a Japanese release in 2008 with a United States (unannounced) release to follow (hopefully).

Disgaea 3 Dated for Japan

Disgaea 3, Nippon Ichi Software's PlayStation 3 debut, will ship in late January, according to the newest Japanese release schedule. The exact date of it's release is January 31st, 2008. No word on a US release date yet.
