A man named Tim R., a regular player of the game we know as PixelJunk Monsters, e-mailed Q Games in need of more. He was told "There should be some news about an expansion pack over the next few weeks, so keep your eyes peeled."

Great news for game players and me, because I'm personally obsessed with it.

PixelJunk Monsters: Attack & Defense Gameplay

This is one title that I'm truly interested in, but I haven't had the time to add some funds to my PLAYSTATION 3 lately. After trying a Tower of Defense like game when I heard it's what PixelJunk Monsters was like. These videos certainly make me want to purchase this title even more. Enjoy!

PixelJunk Monsters Launching Next Week on PLAYSTATION Network

Dylan Cuthbert, the President and Exectuive Producer for Q Games, updated us today on the PlayStation.Blog of PixelJunk Monsters' status.

According to Cuthbert, you can put your other games down because this title is going to keep you occupied for weeks and weeks again.

The point of the game is to protect yrour isand and it's villages from the monster horde stampeding through the game. There are difficulties to make the game easy, medium, or hard. The easy set includes ten waves of monsters. There are many types of these monsters, but they are fast.

When a monster is killed, it drops money for you to pick up and build more towers for defense. Sometimes they drop important gems that you can use to upgrade your current towers.

The types of towers included in the game are the Ice Tower, Fire Tower, Tesla (Electric) Tower, Laser Tower, Hive Tower, and Mortar Tower.

Top that off, the game is launching next week on the PLAYSTATION Store.

PixelJunk Monsters Joins PSP Remote Play Titles

PixelJunk Monsters, Q-Game's upcoming PLAYSTATION Network game (already released in Japan), is going to join the line-up of titles for the PLAYSTATION 3 that support remote play.

According to Q-Games' Dylan Cuthbert, it is one of the best titles on Remote Play due to the game playing at low bandwidth. "We also support PSP remote play and it is probably one of the first games that supports this really well - ie. it is totally playable through your PSP, even at low bandwidths."

It's good to see you'll be able to play more games on the go. This is one that interests me as well. I might just give it a download upon it's release.

PixelJunk Monsters: New Screens & Information

On December 6, 2007, Q Games (creators of PixelJunk Racers) is bringing their newest PLAYSTATION Network downloadable to the Japanese PLAYSTATION Store, PixelJunk Monsters. The price of the game is 900 Yen with the North American release to follow.

The game is a puzzle game. You must protect the puzzle simulation using the monsters. You can build towers and such as well, which ranks with the attack inside the monsters. It's hard to understand from our rough translation.

The game will feature online leaderboards as well as multiplayer, not sure if it's online multiplayer or just two-players. The game will also have something to do with the PLAYSTATION Portable as well.

PixelJunk Racers: GameSpot Reviews 7.0/10

In an odd turn of events, GameSpot has given PixelJunk Racers an alright score. They rate it a 7.0/10.0 stating:

"PixelJunk Racers is a neat little game that takes the basic concepts of slot car racing and applies them to a multitude of minigame-like events that you can play alone or against friends. There are a good number of different events, though the addition of a few more tracks and online multiplayer would have made it a much longer-lasting collection."

According to the PixelJunk Japanese website, we are going to be seeing more PixelJunk games on the PlayStation Network. An unnamed game above is slated for a November 2007 release, with no details what so ever.

This game is also unnamed and looks like some sort of plant game? Maybe you grow plants, I really don't know. This is slated for a December 2007 release.

IGN Reviews PixelJunk Racers a 5.2/10 Mediocore

Yes, yes, IGN has reviewed PixelJunk Racers for the PlayStation Network. Giving it a very low score of 5.2/10. I expected this.

Presentation 7.5
Great, streamlined interface with almost non-existent load times. Really easy to get a race going.
Graphics 3.5
Everything is crisp, but unfortunately the backgrounds are horribly bland and static.
Sound 4.0
The announcer is awful, but some of the tunes are actually pretty nice. Poor sound effects, though.
Gameplay 5.0
Incredibly easy to learn, but ultimately unfulfilling.
Lasting Appeal 5.5
Lots of modes and decent multiplayer help add extra hours to this tiny title.
OVERALL 5.2
(out of 10 / not an average)
There you have it. Read the full review at the link.
