1000th Famitsu Special: Fabula Nova Crystallis Interview

We will be straight with you here. We have no idea what these scans say. What we think we know, according to a title translation from the original news story, is that it's an interview with Nomura regarding Final Fantasy XIII, Versus XII, Agito XIII, and some other Square Enix games, and that it's the 1000th Famitsu issue special. We merly posted this in case anybody can help us out.

Update: Ok, we have a minor translation. The magazine is interviewing Testuya Nomura to celebrate their 1000th issue. Some of the details below.
- While designing Final Fantasy VII, they were indecisive about how spiky to make Cloud's hair.
- Since people are more used to the beautiful CGs of FF characters, Nomura prefers his own artworks to not be shown out in the open too often and thinks that the Final Fantasy illustrations done by Yoshiyuki Amano are what people prefer to see.
- Normally draws with just a mechanical pencil, then scans and digitally colours his artworks.
- Buys games based on Famitsu reviews.
- Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII: Has muscular legs, she isn't sweet, strict to herself and to others, and doesn't like whiners. She is quite like a military soldier.
- Final Fantasy XIII scenario writer, Motomu Toriyama wanted her to be more muscular and macho, but Nomura thought people wouldn't be fond of her as a main character if he designed her that way.
- Aya (Aya Brea from PE3) is a bid more rounded than Lightning.
- Versus XIII heroes' clothes will probably be revised.
- Versus XIII main character is unlike Cloud nor Squall as people are expecting. Everyone's impression on him will greatly change once they hear him speak. Many people may not like him.
- His name will be related to weather just like Lightning, but personally Nomura has gotten bored of this naming tradition.
- The next time they reveal new Versus XIII info, they will reveal the main character's name.
- Agito XIII characters are being called after their weapons between the development staff members, like how the boy with the cards is known as "Card-kun". The girl with glasses is being called "Class President" just because of her image, though.
- Final Fantasy XIII scenario writer, Motomu Toriyama wanted her to be more muscular and macho, but Nomura thought people wouldn't be fond of her as a main character if he designed her that way.

Kingdom Hearts Compiltaion: New Information & Screenshots

Famitsu got in contact with Testsuya Nomura about the three upcoming games for the Kingdom Hearts compilation. Though two of the games are for the Nintendo DS and Mobile Phone, I am going to keep you covered on them as well. And now, for the updates.

Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep (PSP)
Some important information that Nomura gave in this interview are that the secret ending of Kingdom Hearts II: FM+ will play an important role in the PSP title, and that it takes place before the original Kingdom Hearts. Because of that, a new type of enemies has been created due to the fact they came before the Heartless and the Nobodies.

Nomura also gives a hint on what the new level up system is like. He first says the system will feature a new idea that one man came up with, and then Yasushi, Battle planner of FFXI, comes in and says: ".....The level up is like growing".

The developers of the game are also thinking about featuring two multiplayer modes: One will let two players compete against each other, while the other one lets you co-operate in order to achieve goals.

Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days (Nintendo DS)
Nomura was first asked about the name of the game, and if that has any secret meaning. He replied and said that it is a code that will only be understood once we have finished the game. The game is all about the Organization XIII and their daily routine. Nomura has also explained that he chose to use a red color for 358/2 Days' logo in order to represent the sunset of Twilight Town, and he believes the game will make us a bit sad. Nomura says that Namine is not the 14th member of Organization XIII, and she will be revealed during this game. She is a key character, he adds.

This game will not fully use the controls of the DS, Nomura says. He wants people to complete the game, not just "touching their way through".

Riku and Sora will make an appearance in this game, including the famous Riku vs. Roxas scene. Nomura also says that during multiplayer mode we will be able to play using all Organization XIII's characters.

Kingdom Hearts: Coded (Mobile Phone)
Nomura compares this game to "Disneyland", where there are many attractions. He wishes to do the same, just with content added up to it. Hajime Tabata, Director of Agito XIII, then comes in and says that Nomura first began to explain the idea behind the game during midnight while he was drunk.

Nomura: With PlayStation 3 Hardware "All Visions Can Come True"

Apparently, Famitsu likes to interview Tetsuya Nomura a lot. Unfortunately, he has no updates to spare on the upcoming Final Fantasy XIII. But he did say these:

· Nomura was never involved in the creation of any Final Fantasy title as deeply he is right now, and he likes the fact he can take Final Fantasy Versus XIII where he wants it to be.

· Nomura says the PlayStation 3 hardware plays a huge part in the development of both projects, and by using it "all visions can come true". He says that visual-wise both Final Fantasy XIII and Versus XIII are superior from any former title in the franchise, and they are "close to perfection".

· As in any interview, Nomura was asked about the game's exclusivity. This time he mentioned that the TGS 2007 trailers had the writing "for PlayStation 3 ONLY". He says it's an advantage for one team to concentrate on one console, even if some fans are disappointed.
