High Velocity Bowling Includes Custom Soundtrack, TimeShift Online In-Game Messaging
Looks like Sony is testing out it's in-game XMB work on it's games before they throw it all out at us. The today released High Velocity Bowling includes the ability to play a custom soundtrack.
To add to that, the TimeShift multiplayer demo that was released today includes in-game messaging as well. They've done this in games like Resistance: Fall of Man.
If they are able to do this so easily, why can't we just get our in-game XMB with all those features now? Perhaps for Christmas Sony?

Folklore Jingles It's Bells
While we received the "The Kidnapped Folk" and the "Bottom of the Sea" Folklore add-on packs today, Japan received a new Folklore goodie.
Until December 27, 2007, the Japan PLAYSTATION Store is offering a Folklore Christmas Pack. The pack includes new Christmas costumes for Ellen & Keats and a Rare Monster is also included. I guess they are new monsters.
Since we are expected to receive Folklore content throughout this month, we might see this Christmas pack next week.

Rumor: Street Fighter IV Screenshots Leaked?
We can't really accept any of this information until we get confirmation from Capcom. But then, Blogeek goes and gets something better, two new screenshots, showing the same style from the 1UP image we received earlier today. Enjoy them above. The graphics aren't the way they are in the teaser that everyone watched. The game's still pretty, but it has nothing of that ink-splashing or anything. Art direction is interesting. Unlike all the other 3D fighters, Street Fighter IV is not meant to be photo realistic.
Street Fighter IV runs at 60 frames per second.
Street Fighter IV will have online play.
The game takes place after Super Street Fighter II Turbo and before Street Fighter III. The good news is that the character roster will be made of many old-school brawlers and some entirely new ones. There are two new girls on the list. We will probably not see any Street Fighter III characters.
The stage you saw at 1UP, if you didn't figure out, is Chun-Li's Stage from Street Fighter II.
The excellent Parry system form Street Fighter III is gone. The new system seems to be called Saving or Revenge (we're not sure about the name). We don't know exactly how it works, but it's built around cancels. And we do know we'll have another gauge to activate the Saving/Revenge stuff, besides the usual Super Gauge.
Supers are there (although they didn't decide yet if it will be like in Street Fighter II Turbo or Street Fighter III), and now they've put another moves called Ultras. These makes your character throws a auto combo with tons of moves. It's like a custom combo ... except by the custom part.
Shen Long may appear in the game. We are NOT kidding.
The consoles are not decided yet, really. But, assuming that Street Fighter IV will have online play, we can obviously think of Xbox 360 and PS3 (duh). It's very likely that we'll see an arcade version without online mode too, and our sources told us that Capcom could put some test machines in Japan arcades in Q2 next year.

Edge of Twilight Publisher Announced, 2009 Release
SouthPeak Edges the Twilight
Thursday 6th December/...SouthPeak Games has announced early details of its latest acquisition, an epic third-person action adventure called Edge of Twilight.
Developed by FUZZEYES, Edge of Twilight promises to deliver spectacular cinematic action and involved exploration when released for next-gen consoles and PC in 2009. This sees SouthPeak’s catalogue expand beyond releases for 2008, cementing the publisher’s plans for continued growth throughout the next 18 months.
“Edge of Twilight appealed to us because of its exquisitely original vision,” said Katie Morgan, Executive Vice President at SouthPeak Games. “We look forward to working with the talented team at FUZZYEYES on this incredibly ambitious title.”
Edge of Twilight is set in a post-apocalyptic dual universe where light and dark no longer co-exist, but are instead fractured into two separate planes of existence. With the player’s character, Lex, as the only ‘halfbreed’ left who can travel between the light and dark worlds, the scene is set for a truly vast adventure taking place within parallel realms, both rich enough to become living, breathing universes.
“Edge of Twilight has been our labour of love for some time now and we could not be more excited to partner with SouthPeak to bring it to market,” said Wei-Yao Lu, CEO of FUZZYEYES. “There is still so much to reveal about the game that we can’t wait to share more.”
Edge of Twilight will be released on next-gen consoles and PC in 2009.
