Uncharted: Drake's Fortune & It's Home Features

Resistance isn't the only released first party title getting special Home features. Naughty Dog's Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is getting on the train too. Like Resistance, Uncharted will also allow you to walk it's stages without the threat of being shot.

According to some sources, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune will bring a side-scrolling 2D arcade game to Home, described as a reminiscent of both Contra and Out Of This World.

I expect we will soon see a "How Warhawk Makes Home Really, Really Cool".

Uncharted 2 Is Coming Says Christophe Balestra

In an interview with LCI, Christophe Balestra confirmed that Uncharted: Drake's Fortune will soon be seeing a sequel. In his words, he says it will "have right to its continuation".

Now we just wait to see the first images and artwork of this much anticipated sequel. Hopefully, we will see a next-gen Jak & Daxter before this sequel.

David Jaffe Praises Uncharted and Its Gameplay Mechanics

Seems that Eat Sleep Play's boss David Jaffe has been enjoying Naughty Dog's Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. He talks about how he admires the gameplay mechanics that Uncharted: Drake's Fortune brings to the PLAYSTATION 3. Watch the three minute video above.

Uncharted Calls Spanish Readers "Huge Nerds"

If your in Spain and playing some of Naughty Dog's Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, then maybe you've come across this tomb. It reads "Si usted está leyendo esta piedra sepulcral usted es un nerd enorme. Consiga por favor una vida y consiga una novia." That translates to the below.

"If you are reading this grave, you're a huge nerd. Please get a life and a girlfriend."

It's not that nice, but a good find to whoever found it.

Evan Wells Talks Uncharted DLC, Home Trophies, & More

Naughty Dog's Evan Wells has been answering some questions for Three Speech lately. These questions shed some light on some of their current standings with Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.

Three Speech asks about multiplayer and downloadable content for Uncharted. He immediately says "no" due to all the medals and unlockables the game already has. So no downloadable content is planned at the moment.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune may seem like an power burner, but it's actually only using 33% of the available power. Hopefully in the future he will move up the ranks to at least 60%. If a game looks that good on 33%, I can't picture how good it would look higher.

He speaks on Home and it's trophies. He says the medals you earned in Uncharted: Drake's Fortune will eventually turn into Home trophies upon it's release.

Naughty Dog Interested In Uncharted Engine for New Jak & Daxter

Naughty Dog's Evan Wells spoke with Three Speech on a new post from their blog today. They spoke about the engine for Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. Evan Wells spoke of how they want to use it in there next game (Jak & Daxter anyone?).

"We will most definitely continue to build on the Uncharted code base with all of our future titles for the PlayStation3. We have a lot of very sophisticated systems that are general purpose and could be used for a wide variety of genres. It's very exciting to think what we can do with this tech now that it's in place and we can focus on accomplishing something even more ambitious."

Jak & Daxter is somewhat confirmed slash not confirmed. Who really knows? But knowing Naughty Dog, it's probably next.

Uncharted: Google Map Your Fortune

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, Naughty Dog, and Google Maps teamed up to bring us Drake's Trail, based off the the hit PLAYSTATION 3 game, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.

Drake's Trail is an online game where the objective is to find Nathan Drake. You follow clues and use Google Maps to track Drake.

First prize winners of this online game will receive a seven night trip for two to Mexico, while runner up winners can receive a 26" Sony Bravia HDTV.

Uncharted: Drake Can Talk Japanese Too

A new Uncharted: Drake's Fortune commercial recently hit Japanese TV's. The ending of the commercial kind of makes the game sound horrific with his "UNCHAHTED" chant. But then it goes into the nice robotic "PLAYSTATION 3".

Uncharted Map Reveals Location of the Sequel?

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is going to have a sequel, it was already said, and if you didn't know, you could tell by the ending.

A recent piece of art work sent out by Sony came complete with a document entitled ‘Lost and Found Treasures’. This document detailed the 10 greatest treasure hordes in the world and it got Games Radar thinking.

If Sony has gone to the trouble of researching these treasures and including the document within information about Uncharted, could one of these locations potentially be the setting for the next game?

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune Bloodless In Japan

Most people are usually jealous of Japan because they get the better end of the stick, most of the time. This time, there is no need to be jealous. It seems in Naughty Dog's latest release, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, when you shoot an enemy, by magical effect, no blood comes out. As a matter of fact, the whole game is bloodless.

It actually has nothing to do with the game itself, just the region your PLAYSTATION 3 is from. So if it's from Japan, your bloodless.

Naughty Dog Regrets Showing Uncharted So Early

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune was first shown at E3 2005 about a year and a few months before the PLAYSTATION 3 was released.Co-President of Naughty Dog, Evan Wells, talked to 1UP about the title, stating they regretted showing the title so early.

"Something else that I would say might change is something you guys pointed out in your 1UP Yours show -- the fact that we showed the game so early. In fact, we knew at the time that it wasn't, you know, solid -- in particular the A.I. and the gunplay," said Wells. "And we put it out there hoping we'd get the benefit of the doubt that we still had seven months of production left and then of course, we got the feedback...and it was good feedback, and in some ways it was a great focus test for where we were headed."

It seems that they are already hinting at an Uncharted sequel for their next project? Maybe we should have some Jak & Daxter action first though.

If you watched Bravo today, GamerTV reviewed Naughty Dog's "tomorrow release", Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. Their score? A perfect 5/5. They stated the pros and cons as well.

- AI is great with enemies constantly trying to flank you making no cover safe.
- Vast, detailed environments
- Cutscenes are kept to a minimum with interactive cutscenes
- The Killer franchise the Ps3 deserves
- Engaging story full of twists
- Superb animations
- Rewards, cheats and unlockables

Cons
- Sixaxis implentation poor at times (Adjusting Grenade tajectory)
- Little Replay value (Only for rewards)
- The Biggest con of this game is the play time. Average Play time on Normal mode clocks in at 9 hours.

Naughty Dog Interested in PLAYSTATION Network

In a recent interview with Naughty Dog, GamesIndustry asks Evan Wells about their interest in the PLAYSTATION Network:

"I think it could come in handy during some of the transitional roll over periods between games if there hasn't been enough pre-production work done to get started on the next big project,"

Naughty Dog could use the online PLAYSTATION Store to provide downloadable content for Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, their first PLAYSTATION 3 release. In Uncharted, there are also medal points, expecting that soon they can be attached with PLAYSTATION Home.

Hopefully, in the future we will see these implements.
