In the preview, they state you'll be able to customize your driver to your liking, along with your vehicles as well with paint and adding new parts. You'll be able to listen to custom music tracks in game as well as you race. Lets hope by this releases, Sony has in-game XMB out and that won't be necessary.

The game features racing through tracks in the jungle, caves, mountain hillsides and volcano craters which means you'll be seeing fiery hot lava. Hit the jump for the scans.

Electronic Gaming Monthly April 2008: 50 Cent Bullet Proof 2, Motorstorm 2, SOCOM Confronation

Why does it have to happen? We don't know. The original 50 Cent: Bulletproof shipped over a million to hip-hop heads who just couldn't get enough of the Cent. The game was horrible though. The latest issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly, however, reveals 50 Cent: Bulletproof 2. It's not all bad however.

The latest issue will also give us an in-depth preview of SOCOM: Confrontation along with the first screens (in-game?) of Motorstorm 2. Lets just hope the next 50 Cent isn't as bad as the first.

In the chat, they learned about some of the games Sony are backing to be successful along with the name of Motorstorm 2. The sequel to Motorstorm will be titled Motorstorm: Pacifica. Not that bad a name if you ask me.

Motorstorm 2 Is Coming This Fall: Teaser Trailer

Well, here it is, what we have been waiting for. The official Motorstorm 2 teaser trailer was released today, and it's looking gorgeous (it's all CG by the way).
"The MotorStorm style of anything-goes racing is moving from the mountainous desert to a lush Pacific island, replete with thick swamps, dense jungle, towering peaks and steaming volcanoes. You’ll be rampaging through thick mud, tangled undergrowth, swift flowing rivers, and searing lava pools of this new location with all of the vehicles familiar to players of the first MotorStorm: ATVs, rally cars, buggies, motorbikes, race trucks, mudpluggers and Big Rigs. Joining the cast is the new monster truck class, likely to become a fan favorite (check out the video below)."
Some of the other features include 16 new multi-route tracks, 16 plyaers online, and a 4-player spli-screen mode. That should make us happy.

Motorstorm 2 to Feature Monster Trucks, Loads of Water

Looks like that BBC reporter wasn't lying. In the latest issue of PlayStation: The Official Magazine, they show a short preview of Motorstorm 2. The sequel is going out of the desert and into the ocean. They say that the trailer for Motorstorm 2 should have been shown by the time we read this. Since it's not officially on stands, thats Wednesday. They do state however the trailer is all CG, but gives you an idea of what to expect.

The editors of the magazine claim they've seen some of the stuff Evolution's been working on and it's amazing. They tell us that the game will feature an upped online mode, monster trucks, along with bikes, ATVs, and big rigs. They say expect this title to have downloadable content as well. They say they expect it to be released this Christmas.

Three Speech Counting Down to Something Big?

A new update to semi-official Sony blog, Three Speech came with a wider layout, new banners, and a countdown to something big under the banner. The countdown is about less than 4 days away and says "A NEW BREED OF WARRIOR WILL BE BORN...". The countdown, if I'm correct ends on March 12, 2008 which is supposed to be the unveiling of Motorstorm 2. It's either that or Heavenly Sword 2, or some brand new IP. I wonder.

BBC Previews: Motorstorm 2, Resistance 2, "Speechless" Secret Title

Darren Waters of BBC was shown some exclusive previews recently of upcoming PLAYSTATION 3 games.

He was first shown Motorstorm 2, which is due out sometime during Christmas. He explains that unlike the first game which features the desert as the main environment, the sequel features a lush island environment along with what the first game was lacking, four player split-screen. The title is some months away from completion, but he explains the game's engine was rock solid and the graphics were highly impressive as you would expect from "one of the best-looking racing franchises."

He also previewed Resistance 2. He was only shown a trailer, but he stated that it was clear Insomniac Games wanted to make a statement, especially since the online hosts 60 players at the same time. He explains that it screams epic and concludes with "You haven't seen what we are truly capable of."

The editor teases us with a new title he was show. This new title is due out in 2009, but he was shown to absolute secrecy. The game is so secret that when he mentioned it to Phil Harrison, he was unsure to admit the title existed (as he was not informed he was told). He teases more by telling us the title left him "speechless" and the footage he was shown was truly "in game".

What could this title be? Sony Computer Entertainment showed it to him, so it would have to be published by them? What could be so speechless? Could it be Final Fantasy VII (they own the rights), or perhaps Sly Cooper 4? Maybe a whole new IP? Start counting down to E3 people.

Evoltion Wants Motorstorm to Dominate

Evolution Studios, the creators of MotorStorm, wants their racer to "dominate reaction racing for a long time".

When he was asked about the future of MotorStorm, Jed Ashworth said that the question "goes way beyond downloadable content".

"We have the aim of turning our launch-window title into a sustained, massive brand," he said. "We plan to dominate reaction racing for a long time. We'd never aim any lower."

Unfortunately, Ashworth was not able to comment on plans for Motorstorm 2 (perhaps this week at GDC?).

"The picture some people have of us all working on [MotorStorm DLC] is somewhat off the mark," he said. "We're a multiple-project developer now."

MotorStorm sold over 3 million copies worldwide. Will their sequel do the same?

Ryan, of the Evolution Studios team, updated us on the status of the sequel to Motorstorm. They are currently working on the Graphical User Interface, also known as the GUI.

The new GUI is completely different from that in Motorstorm. According to Ryan, they are pretty confident in their new GUI "I think we've come up with something pretty impressive, both functionally and artistically."

We'll see if this is true when the first screenshots are released.
