A new program for Linux on the PLAYSTATION 3 was released today called StreamMyGame. What does it allow you to do? Play PC games on your PLAYSTATION 3.
The StreamMyGame server is free and works by remotely converting the game’s video and audio into a Game Stream and sending it over your LAN network to a second compute, laptop, or Linux enabled PLAYSTATION 3. Then the PC games can be played on your console without any lag. Somebody called for Crysis?
"Playing the latest PC game on the PS3 is now a reality at HD resolution and fast frame-rates," said Richard Faria CEO. "I have a PS3 in my living room and PC in my office and my two kids both have old PCs in their bedrooms," he said. "Now we can play games anywhere around the home. StreamMyGame's technology networks the power of a main PC so it can be used to play high end games on other PCs, PS3s and Linux devices".
Currently, you can only use StreamMyGame over a LAN network, but it is being expanded to broadband in March this year. Check it out at the link below.

PLAYSTATION Network: Your Enhanced Classics?
Lately, the PLAYSTATION Store has been buzzing with new titles such as PAIN, Toy Home, and Mesmerize. Between the weeks, we may have seen some gaps in PLAYSTATION Store releases.
It would be a good idea for Sony to start getting deals with some developers to throw out some enhanced retro titles onto the store. Rumors have been surfacing about an Xbox Live Arcade version of the best first person shooter ever, GoldenEye 007.
Sony should be the first to take a crack at this opportunity. Releasing a title such as this would bring in huge sales for the store. What retro title do you think Sony should take a crack at enhancing?

In-Game XMB Arriving at January's End?

A tipster has sent word into PLAYSTATION 3 gamercard site, TripleTags, that in-game XMB is coming sooner than we think. Along with the attached image (to the left & right), he concluded that we will be seeing this on our TV screens by the end of January.
Things you may want to notice is the absence of the "PLAYSTATION Network" icon, and the "Turn Off the System" icon all the way at the bottom of the menu.
Although my ideal in-game XMB would show my currently paused game as a background, this would be an excellent start. Let's hope it's true.

Update 1/15/08: The images appear to be fake, see the article here.

More Grand Theft Auto IV Teaser Sites Coming?
In one of the new Grand Theft Auto IV pictures released recently (show left), a sign in the back was shown to be a Starbucks parody named Bean Machine Coffee.
A member of the GTA4.TV staff decided to type the name of the shop in his address bar, and found out the site BeanMachineCoffe.com was recently registered along with WeazelNews.com by the same details from a WhoIs lookup.
Seems like Rockstar is prepping up to more sites to lure people into it's upcoming and highly anticipated title. Grand Theft Auto IV is said to be out by April 2008.

They of course will be copy-protected and be 'PSP optimized'. It's said to take 3-5 minutes to complete the operation. The files will be around 1GB in size so you may want to buy a bigger memory stick if you have the 1GB sticks. New memory sticks coming out in March by Sony are now as big as 16GB with 32GB due next year. Enjoy the pictures of this Blu-Ray Movie to PSP transfer. [Credits to Watch & N4G!]

Free Radical Speaks on HAZE Delay
If you've still been hearing the news about more HAZE delays, then you'll want to read this. A Free Radical writer posted this on the official blog.
"Soooo, HAZE is delayed. But you already know that, don't you. Well, the simple fact of the matter is, any delay on a game is a good thing - it's more time to optimize and polish and tweak and generally improve the whole damn thing to the Nth degree. Now, I know that some of you patient folks out there will be bitterly disappointed. Some of you may even want to come to my house and smash a colostomy bag over my head, and I think most people would understand that sentiment, but believe when I say that the delay is the best possible thing for the game. Hell, the reason why you guys are so pumped about it is because you have high expectations, and we need just a little more time to make sure that we meet them. So in conclusion, rest easy - we're still slugging away on this badboy."I guess in all the badness surrounded by the delay, it really is a good thing. We wouldn't want them to release a crappy game, would we?
