Michael Bay Still Loves Blu-Ray

Due to an exclusive deal for Paramount to become an HD DVD exclusive, meaning no Blu-Ray, Transformers was not able to be released on that format.

When Michael Bay first heard, he was outraged and threatened to stop production of the upcoming Transformers 2.

So far, the HD DVD sales of Transformers have broken records in less than a week. Michael Bay still seems to pick Blu-Ray over HD DVD though:

"It's short-sighted and it has delayed consumers' moving to HD (home video)," he told USA Today. "As a director, my critical eye is that Blu-ray is where my money is. Consumers are smart, and they are going to wait it out."
The HD DVD exclusive Paramount deal expires in less than two years. Perhaps we can see Transformers be bundled with a Transformers 2 Blu-Ray disc upon it's release?
