Call of Duty 4 Scores 10/10 from OPM

Everyone has something good to say about Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. The review from the Official PlayStation Magazine UK came in today, and they gave it a perfect ten out of ten! They close their long interview with:

"The single-player campaign or the multiplayer options alone would make this essential. It's a game where stunning set pieces are linked together by other ever more dazzling set pieces, while the depth and customization potential of the online component promise months of play. Too early for game of the year? Trust us, you'll see...."
I don't think you can call a too early when the game rates a 10 out of 10. This is definitely a candidate, and definitely a buy for the PLAYSTATION 3 community.

Presenting... The PolyStation 3

Yeah, you know the PolyStation 3? The successor to PolyStation 2 which is the successor to the PolyStation, duh.

Okay, off the jokes now. This PolyStation is the latest in cheap knock-offs brought off by crap technology. Although, I got to say, Formula One looks really nice. Give it a watch.

Capcom Says Sorry for Monster Hunter 3 Switch

The newest issue of Japanese magazine, Famitsu, features a new interview with the developer team of Monster Hunter 3, which has been cancelled for the PLAYSTATION 3 and is now a Wii exclusive.

According to Famitsu (translated by IGN), representatives of Capcom had a "big apology" for PLAYSTATION 3 owners. "Famitsu pointed out that some people may have purchased a PLAYSTATION 3 once Monster Hunter 3 was announced last year. This drew a big apology from the Capcom reps, who said that PLAYSTATION 3 owners should wait for further announcements in the series."

I personally bought the PLAYSTATION 3 because of next year's line-up, but if this is an apology, then I better go tell my cousin he shouldn't of bought girls clothes for his kid before further analysis was complete.

Blasto Returns By Trademark

If you owned the PSone, you might have remembered Blasto. I played it as a kid and I loved the game. It may not have been popular in the reviews, but I liked it.

Today it has returned, in the US Patents & Trademarks Office database.

The patent comes from Sony Computer Entertainment America and was filed on October 23rd, 2007. The patent reveals some sort of online mode to the game, when it states:

"OPERATING A REAL-TIME GAME FOR OTHERS OVER GLOBAL AND LOCAL AREA COMPUTER NETWORKS."
Could a new online game named Blasto be coming? Or could a PSone classic be coming to the PLAYSTATION Store supporting an online feature? We'll keep you updated.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue vs. Forza 2 Video Comparison

User SvenMinoda of GameTrailers uploaded a side-by-side comparison video of SCE's Gran Turismo 5 Prologue & Microsoft's Forza 2 Motorsport. The video was taken with the same settings, same track, and same positioning on track.

What looks better? You tell us.

Rockstar Sending Out New GTAIV Boxarts

XboxFamily received a little gift from Rockstar Games in their mailboxes today. Something they thought that was Grand Theft Auto IV, but sadly was not. Instead they received 6 official boxarts for the game, along with the boxes of course.

Take a look, they are pretty nice.

Army of Two Is Surrounded

Just because Army of Two is delayed doesn't mean EA Montreal can't keep throwing trailers at us. How about a demo next time? Enjoy.

Kane & Lynch Insider #2

Art Director Martin Guldbaek discusses getting the images and environments needed to tell the story. Enjoy.

Tekken 5's Dark Trailers

We are on the verge of Tekken 6 and we're still getting trailers for Tekken 5? That shows dedication to games. Watch the Kings of the Iron Fist Tournament online at a beautiful 1080p resolution and at a blazing 60 frames per second.

Toy Home Trailer

Toy Home is looking like a racing port of Toy Story to me. I'm not all that interested in this game, maybe if they were to add more than just racing you know? Just not that much of a car fan I guess. Anyway, enjoy the trailer.

LEGO Batman: New Character Revealed

During last Friday's LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga for the Wii's showing at GameCity 2007, Jonathan Smith, head of production at Traveller's Tales Games let slip a few tidbits of information regarding upcoming title LEGO Batman.

He revealed that Batman villains Nighthawk and Man-Bat are among the denizens of Gotham City who'll make it into the game. Not much for me, but it's great for fans of the series.

Prototype Interview

Prototype is a unique game all it's own, doing something nobody else have ever done. That is transforming into a mutant, being able to adapt skills of fallen enemies, having unique abilities, causing mass chaos where citizens react, in one open world city known as New York.

Prototype is the studios first original game born and raised at Terminal Avenue studios.
"Radical has a history of doing great licenced games," says Tim Bennison, executive producer of Prototype. "We have a history of capturing the essence of a big licence and delivering on the player's expectations of being Homer Simpson or being Tony Montana or being The Hulk."

Surfer Girl Reveals 25 More Things: Far Cry PS3, Syphon Filter, More

Surfer Girl is at it again, posting more insider news as she goes. We took the liberty of bolding all the PLAYSTATION 3 related news.

1) The Gears of War trilogy will be finished on the Xbox 360.
2) IO-Interactive's next Hitman game, tentatively slated for release next summer, is coming to the Wii.
3) The Far Cry franchise is coming to the PS3 courtesy of Ubisoft Montreal.
4) Even though the forthcoming Prince of Persia 4 will probably not be coming to the Wii, the system will receive an "alternate title" in the Prince of Persia franchise,
5) That Resistance: Fall of Man 2 starts in Iceland and ends in Mexico.
6) NBA Ballers 3 (not the final title) will be slam dunking on the PS3 and Xbox 360 in April.
7) Sony Bend is working on a PS3 Syphon Filter title slated for release sometime in 2009.
8) Neither of n-Space's two Wii titles stars a ghost. However, they are even more ambitious than that ghost game and far better. One features a temple level that looks like it was swiped out of Red Steel and the other more ambitious title features an alien reptilian creature who bares quite a resemblance to Ganondorf. I'd be surprised if either sees release before March 2009.
9) Ubisoft will be publishing Soma, the Human Head/Mark Ecko collaboration coming to PS3 and 360 sometime before two years from now, and which I guarantee is way cooler than the overrated Prey.
10) After great success Athens 2004, Eurocom is developing sequel 2008 Beijing Olympics for Sega.
11) That non-Metroid game Retro Studios is working on is a new IP that is not an FPS.
12) Zoonami has a few titles that will be available through WiiWare next year.
13) Q Entertainment is working on WiiWare title or two for release for next year.
14) Space Michael won't be in Space Channel 5 Part 3.
15) ChuChu Rocket! comeback for DS and/or Wii.
16) EA's next-gen snowboarding title that may or may not have SSX in the title is coming next fall, at the same time frame as "the best snowboarding game ever" (or so I'm told numerous times) Shaun White Snowboarding (which is also shredding next-gen systems).
17) Red Steel 2 not before May, with multiplayer and co-op.
18) LEGO Indiana Jones is coming out after or at the same time as Indiana Jones (working title).
19) Yet another Super Monkey Ball game is in the works.
20) Fight Night 2008 is coming to the Wii.
21) Fuse Games + that pink round guy that floats = their next DS title.
22) Super Punch-Out! is coming to Virtual Console next year.
23) Monster Games is developing another game for Nintendo, that is not an Excite Truck sequel.
24) Wii Motor Sports Airplane is a WiiWare title.
25) Mario Superstar Baseball Wii is sliding to home base in the summer.

EA: "Rockstar Spazzed Out Like Little Babies" Over Scratchy Simpsons

A trio of EA developers have fired back at Rockstar on Geoff Keighley’s Game Head program. Executive producer Matt Selman explained the controversy:

"The game begins with Bart wanting to play a game called Grand Theft Scratchy. Of course this is a parody of Grand Theft Auto. And Marge immediately takes it away from him. She tries to clean up the town and stop the game from being distributed in Springfield because Marge is against video game violence. She uses horrific violence to stop video game violence… in a video game. Thats called irony… The people who make Grand Theft Auto, they spazzed out like little babies."

Senior producer Matt Warburton chimed in: "They’re supposed to be rockstars… That’s not a big Rockstar move, to be afraid of The Simpsons making fun of their game."
