Rumor: New Tidbits on Eight Days and The Getaway 3
In a supposed chat with one of the developers at Sony Computer Entertainment Studio Soho & London, the developer revealed some tiny information on a few anticipated titles.
For now, we will classify this as a rumor, due to the fact we have no idea whether this user is telling the truth or not.
- Gran Turismo 5 Prologue's London track is using assets taken from The Getaway 3.
- Designer reckons The Getaway 3 looks a little better than the Gran Turismo 5 Prologue London track, only on a bigger scale. Essentially The Getaway 3 will look similar.
- When quizzed about how this was possible, he merely stated that it's easier to manage when you don't have to worry about 60fps or 1080p.
- The Getaway 3 will run at 720p and 30fps.
- This time around The Getaway will focus more on crime/thriller suspense.
- Eight Days is coming along very well. First proper public showcasing of gameplay will be this summer.
- Eight Days will not be quite as revolutionary as some have mentioned, but will have numerous innovations.
- Designer reckons Eight Days looks so good, he wouldn't be surprised if it gets 10's from reviewers for visuals.
- Eight Days and Getaway 3 are visually quite different, namely in contrasting art styles.
- When asked which game of the two he thought looked better, he said he thought The Getaway 3 looked "a little bit better", but that both looked fantastic.
- He also mentioned what kind of mock scores early play tests of Eight Days had been getting. Ranging from 8.5 - 9's for gameplay and 10's for visuals. But said he wouldn't go in to much detail or blow his trumpet, as we could decide for ourselves later this year. I'll take that as a hint the game is being released later this year. But he didn't budge on the subject.

BAJA: Debut Trailer
Well, here is the first trailer of BAJA, coming to you from 2XL and THQ. When I first watched the beginning, I was amazed, then I realized that they using half the trailer to show real dirt cars, and the other half to show the actual game. Looking at it, it's not spectacular, but it's alright.

Far Cry 2: No Demo and an Early Fall 2008 Release
Patrick Redding spoke on the upcoming Far Cry 2 at the recent Play.com Live 2008 event. He stated the game should be arriving in early fall of this year. He stated that, sadly, there will be no demo prior to the release of the game, since it would take away too much time from development. Perhaps after?

onAXIS Site Preview: Bling-Bling
The last time you saw the upcoming onAXIS Site (title yet to be revealed), it was a bit different than what you are going to see now. We've added in a fixed layout along with User CP in the sidebar, which we are labeling the AXIS of the site (dedication to the Blogger site that started it all, right here). The background is a bit different as you can see now, we have a sort scroll down of the site logo. It gives you a hint, that the site's name starts with an "S". Go on, try and guess, you will never get it.
We are thinking of changing the way the featured articles are presented. If you have any ideas on what it should look like, feel free to toss a sketch or an idea in the comments.

Metal Gear Solid 4 Steel PlayStation 3 Bundle Sells Out
Konami's Japanese site has recently revealed the steel PlayStation 3 Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots bundle as "Sold Out". Yes, that was pretty quick. The bundle includes Metal Gear Solid 4, a DualShock 3 controller, and the limited edition Steel PlayStation 3. Poor importers, is there still hope yet for this bundle in the US?

The new expansion comes with a new level, known as Vaporfield Galcier, and the Armored Personnel Carrier. The APC comes in two different forms and looks different for the Eucadian and Chernovan classes. Up to six players can ride in one, and a speed-boost feature will allow it to better enter enemy territory. The APC can also generate a force field to protect your troops.
