Electronic Arts plans to bring in some "extensions" for it's Skate and Burnout series says Electronic Arts president Frank Gibeau. He also states a sequel for Mass Effect is in the works as well, but did not state which consoles.
What could the Skate extension be? The developers already stated they built the game with no DLC in mind. We will find out sooner or later.

Is PLAYSTATION Backwards Compatibility Dead? Possibly Not
Well, the 80GB PLAYSTATION 3 Sku is on it's way out of stores. My friend who is the assistant manager at a GameStop confirmed this with me as well.
Backwards Compatibility may not be completely dead though. PlayStation Network Director, Eric Lempel, spoke about the possibilities of downloading PS2 games as well as PSone games in the latest issue of EGM.
When asked if the PLAYSTATION Network would start allowing downloads for PS2 games via the PLAYSTATION Store, Lempel said "We haven't talked about that yet, but there are possibilities through technology and software emulation to make that possibles."
Lets hope, and if not, lets make petitions.

EA Extends NFL License Until 2013
Today, Electronic Arts announced that it is extending it's National Football League license until 2013. Meaning you'll be guranteed to have a Madden 09, Madden 10, Madden 11, Madden 12, and Madden 13.
The agreement also allows EA access to NFL Films and the NFL Network "to enrich its game experiences".
"This is all about bringing authenticity and realism to NFL videogames," commented Eric Grubman, president of NFL Ventures.
"EA Sports continually works to maintain the cutting edge for NFL products across a variety of gaming platforms. We like the fact that they never rest."
Let's hope that Madden 09 looks just as good on the PLAYSTATION 3 this time.

Octave Engine Demonstrated on PLAYSTATION 3
The Octave Engine is the engine that runs Tekken 6. It's a really fantastic engine, as you can see by the way it stimulates waves and splashes in the game. That can be applied to other things like sand. Enjoy the watch!

Netflix Coming to the PLAYSTATION 3?
Supposedly, a new Netflix survey thats been going around has been suggesting the service may arrive on the PLAYSTATION 3 and Xbox 360.
The survey supposedly asks "If as part of your Netflix membership you could instantly watch movies and TV episodes on your TV with your PS/3 or XBOX 360, how likely would you/anyone in your household be to do that?" Then it goes on to say that both consoles can play streaming media by using a special Netflix disc, with no extra fees besides a $3 charge for the disc.
Netflix lovers, make a wish.

Capcom: Resident Evil 5 Is Amazing
Capcom today stated that when Resident Evil 5 finally comes, we are going to flip out, in a good way.
"Just being able to see Resident Evil 5 running, I'm like 'Oh my god!' Honestly, when we start showing more of that, when we start letting people go hands-on with that, people are going to flip out" said Capcom's Senior Director of Communications and Community, Chris Kramer, in an interview. He added "That game to me is super exciting."
He hinted at a 2008 release when he was asked what Capcom has planned for this year: "We have a really fantastic year ahead of us, a year that's going to include games like... Resident Evil 5...".
Could Resident Evil 5 be coming 2008? Let's hope so.
