Call of Duty 4 Only Running at 720p?
Thanks to a tip from a fellow reader, it seems that Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare may only run at 720p.
First off, the reader claims that the game looks absolutely breathtaking, but it only runs at 720p. The back of the box claims it supports 720p, 1080i, and 1080p, but his Samsung Full HD TV is only running it at 720p.
His TV has been checked, he is using an HDMI 1.3 cable and the PLAYSTATION resolution is set at 1080p, but the game still only runs at 720p.
To make sure it wasn't his TV, he tested other Full HD games, like NBA Street Homecourt, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, and LAIR. They all ran at 1080p like the box indicated.
Could Call of Duty 4 only run at 720p? We'll tell you as we find out more.
[Thanks Kaddas!]
[Update 11.3.07, 8:22 PM]
Kaddas sent me a video of the game running at 720p. Take a look at it above.

PLAYSTATION 3 Turnaround, Experiencing Phenomenal Sales
As we showed you the other day, Sony has launched a new PLAYSTATION 3 campaign. Yesterday, the 40GB PLAYSTATION 3 was released at $399 and the 80GB dropped to $499. Peter Dille Spoke about the drops:
"... we wanted to move beyond the 'power' message with a more high-energy, entertainment driven focus for the PS3. The games are here, the price point is now $399 and we wanted to make the news loud and clear. But we need to deliver that in a way that befits the PlayStation brand," Dille said. "And so, beyond the brilliant HD games that the PS3 delivers, you'll also see a big focus behind the PS3's Blu-ray movie capability and, for the first time, you'll see a major focus behind the PlayStation Network (did I mention online gaming is free on PS3??) and the exclusive gaming content available on the PlayStation Store, as well as breakthrough services like Home."Dille also noted that the 80GB PS3, which is backwards compatible with PS2 and comes with Motorstorm packed in, has been "demonstrating phenomenal sales growth since we announced the $499 price point."
Looks like things are starting to turn around for the PLAYSTATION 3.

Bionic Commando "In Three Months, You Will Be Happy"
The most brought up complaint about the Bionic Commando PS3 and X360 remake was actually quite a stupid one. And that is the corn rows, don't hate on a playa.
According to Bionic Commando producer Ben Judd, the cornrows move and sway when Nathan swings, an effect that wouldn't show with a military-style haircut. Early on, it was even suggested that the character have a bandana, but Judd turned it down since Solid Snake already had it. He leaves Kotaku with:
"In three months, I'm almost ninety percent certain that fans will be very, very happy. Just wait and give me three months."What could happen in three months?
