Metal Gear Solid 4: Demo Probably Not Coming, Collector's Edition Possible

Today, on macho gaming forum NeoGAF, new information (sort of) surfaces about Konami's upcoming Metal Gear Solid 4.

Metal Gear Solid 4's Producer Ryan Payton warns us that we shouldn't get our hopes up for a demo to hit the PLAYSTATION Store.

"Considering how much we’ve changed since TGS/E for All, it would be a huge undertaking to create a new demo. Sorry guys."
To lighten the pain of not being able to test this potential system seller out, he speaks of the possibility of a collector's edition.
"On a brighter note, we’re working really hard to solidify plans for a limited edition SKU. Coordinating our ideas with Konami JP, US, and EU is a big challenge, considering the simultaneous worldwide launch, strict retail rules on packaging, etc."
Ryan's views on the game aren't to make it a killer app for the console, but to make it the best game it can be.
"Wish me luck in 2008 as I try to divert attention away from MGS4 being a killer app “weapon” against competitors in our industry, but rather focus on the game being a big step for the game industry as a whole. I hope MGS4 will prove to millions of people that games are to be celebrated, not spat on by politicians and mainstream media."

Motorstorm Breaks 2 Million Software Sales

Sony Computer Entertainment & Evolution Studios' hit dirt racing game, Motorstorm, has broken the 2 million sales point.

Motorstorm launched alongside the PLAYSTATION 3 in November 2007, and since then has seen tremendous sales for a game of it's type. If your still playing online, along with the many others, then hit me up, and we will do a quick race (which you'll probably kick my ass in).

Devil May Cry 4: Prologue & Cutscene Videos

I guess Capcom's final Devil May Cry 4 trailer wasn't the final trailer after all. Today they released two new videos. The first one being the opening video to the game (don't watch if your saving the moment for it's release). The second one being a cutscene from the beginning of the game as well. We think it's real time but are unsure. Enjoy!

Devil May Cry 4: PLAYSTATION 3 Version to Feature Exclusive Content?

According to a 1UP preview for Capcom's upcoming February 2008 release of Devil May Cry 4, the game looks and plays better on the PLAYSTATION 3.

The latest issue of Japanese magazine, Famitsu, reveals that the PLAYSTATION 3 version will support exclusive content such as 5.1 support, PLAYSTATION Network support, and optional installation on the hard drive to cancel out load times.

No word on what Capcom wants the PLAYSTATION Network for, whether it's new content, levels, characters, or even multiplayer. None of these features were stated in the Xbox 360 version though.

Dragonball Z: Burst Limit: More New Screenshots

Here are some new images of Bandai Namco's celshaded Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit for the PLAYSTATION 3 and Xbox 360, coming 2008. The new title keeps the missed Budokai style, and if its intended to do so, it will probably be dubbed Budokai 4 in the states. Personally, I'm very excited for this title.

Penny Arcade Bashes Mark Rein on Unreal Tournament III Mod Support

Penny Arcade's Tycho lays down the reality of the PLAYSTATION 3 mod support for Unreal Tournament III as said by Mark Rein.

"As Huckster General for Epic MegaGames, of course you have interpreted your products with the maximum charity. As a consumer, I've assessed them by a more robust standard. Be sure to send any other tidbits my way in the future, so that I may again separate wheat from chaff."
Or rather, how you can't put mods on the PLAYSTATION 3 version of Unreal Tournament III, at least not yet. Read his full correction list at the link below.

New Street Fighter IV Information: Fast Game

1UP has done some quick impressions on Capcom's upcoming Street Fighter IV for next-gen consoles (most likely). They describe it as a fast paced fighter.

"The first thing we noticed upon grabbing the joysticks, selecting our characters, and pressing 'start' is that the game is fast."
Fast fighters are my type of game. Most likely for all others who like their matches to last, they will probably fix that situation though.
