Motorstorm Additional Content Imminent

Keep your eyes open people, because more new content is coming to PlayStation 3's Motorstorm.

Direct from Evolution Studios comes a scan of the current marketing campaign that SCEE are putting out in the printed media, and the latest UK Playstation Network email update lists Vehicle Packs 1 & 2 plus the Coyote Revenge weekend pass as 'on the horizon'

Coyote Revenge is a new track that reverses the existing Coyote track. Also rumoured to be in the weekend pass is the Eagle's Nest track, which was shown at E3.

Sounds like a good coming for Motorstorm owners. When the time comes, I think I just might have to buy me the game, as I still don't currently own it.

PlayStation.Blog: "Hello, my name is Shu Yoshida, I’m a Senior Vice President of Product Development here inside SCEA, and I oversee the product development group in the US for SCE’s Worldwide Studio, headed by Phil Harrison. For a little perspective on the US portion of the Worldwide Studio group, you should know we have eight studios in six US cities reaching from Redmond, Wash. down to San Diego, Calif. We also work with some very talented developer partners like Insomniac, Factor 5 and Sucker Punch. My role is a bit unique in the industry, heading up first-party development, so hopefully in time I can provide some interesting insights to readers of this blog."

PSP Slim Video Walkthrough

Kotaku just received their own free PlayStation Portable slim. So what to do? They recorded a video of it along with a list of things they noticed:

This video is a quick walkthrough of the new PSP, showing off some of the external key differences like the new UMD loading tray, the new Memory Stick cover, the battery and such. I've also shot a bunch of comparison shots, including some showing the PSP versus PSP2K versus DS Lite screens' brightness. It's hard to tell, but the PSP 2K's screen looks a touch brighter than the PSP's.

A couple of things from the press release:

Video-out Port: Play and watch your library of PSP games, movies, videos and photos on the big screen. The new video out feature displays games on progressive scan TVs at 480 x 272 resolution, while movies, videos and photos can be shown at full standard definition (up to 720 x 480 resolution.) Component or composite cables required and available separately.

The Daxter PSP Pack comes with a silver PSP2K, a copy of Daxter, the Family Guy: The Freakin' Sweet Collection on UMD and a 1GB Memory Stick Pro Duo for $200. Available in early September.

The Star Wars Battlefront PSP Pack comes with a limited edition white PSP with Darth Vader silk-screened on the back and a copy of Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron for $200. Available on Oct. 9.

The PSP Core pack comes with a black PSP 2K, the AC adapter and battery pack for $170. Available in early September.

Hopefully that answers most of your questions.

Ninja Theory talks Heavenly Sword 2, Online, Combat Controls and More

Heavenly Sword is on the horizon. It's coming to the PLAYSTATION 3 finally next month. Screen Play was lucky enough to sit down with Ninja Theory's Nina Kristensen, co-founder and "chief development ninja".

They asked her a couple questions like chapter length, how much we get to play as Kai (Nariko's sister), and if they ever conisdered doing online. The game is about 15-20 hours long, and you get to play as Kai around 20% of the game. They did consider online, but they decided to focus on the main storyline instead.

2008 Is The Year Of Sony Video Montage

Here is yet another video compilation of some of the best PlayStation 3 games to come. The user who made this video also included what he believes is the timeline for the PlayStation 3:
2006 - Launch
2007 - Great Line Up
2008 - It's on.
I must say I agree, because I've yet to hear of a game to come out in 2009. So next year is the year.

Rumor: New DBZ Series to be Exclusive to PS3, showing at TGS 2007

Apparently an insider on the Atari forums named “Jipang” (who has been correct on these rumors many times before) has found out that Dimps (the developers of the original three Budokai games) is developing an all new Dragonball Z (DBZ) series for PS3.

He even goes on to say that an all new Naruto and Gundam series is underway too and that they all may appear at TGS.
Now if you’ve been following the DBZ games then you’d know that Donny Clay (the producer of the DBZ games) confirmed in an interview LAST YEAR that they already had a PS3 game in the works. This seems to be more evidence of that.

PSX Extreme Scores Warhawk 9/10

Another day, another review for Warhawk. This time its from PSX Extreme. They gave it a 9/10. They start off the review with:

Warhawk is an age-old PlayStation brand. In fact, those of you who were to young to remember, the original Warhawk was actually one of the first PlayStation games nearly a dozen years back. It, along with Twisted Metal and Jet Moto, all shared the very same game engine that was developed by SingleTrac, who we know today as Incognito. Warhawk 2 took life on the PlayStation, but it was canceled fairly quick, and media of the game doesn't exist. Much like on the original PlayStation, the rejuvenated Warhawk on the PS3 continued to have a very knotted development cycle, with controversy constantly around it. We lost the single-player aspect of the game, but the emphasis on multiplayer increased due to it. Regardless, the game is finally here and it's terrific.
