Motorstorm: Pacific Rift: First Gameplay from PlayStation Day

At the link, you'll see a video containing the first gameplay footage of Motorstorm: Pacific Rift, coming straight out of PlayStation Day 2008 in London. The game's graphcis are sleek, and the video we are watching is only in pre-alpha. Enjoy!

Looks like it's missing some effects, maybe even the proper crash explosions. The level of detail on the track is already a lot higher with MORE and SHARPER details, nice lighting obviously. Looks like the monster truck takes some getting used to, very bouncy and not rooted to the ground like the other vehicles.

I concur.

The truck was rolling around like a toy and just seemed to be sliding along the track rather than digging into the earth and establishing a true sense of being on the ground.

Also, I noticed that when the boost was engaged the screen didn't do that little tricked out zoom effect like it did in the first game.

However, I do agree with anonymous that the textures look VERY sharp and slick and the environments already look way better than the previous version.

But I'm sure this is alpha code like everything else on showcase today so we'll see all the effects and better balancing before the game goes gold.
