Capcom Producer: Making Devil May Cry 4 on the PlayStation 3 Was Tricky

Capcom did a good job making sure that Devil May Cry 4 looked the same on all consoles. According to Producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi, doing that was a bit tricky.

"The Xbox 360 and the PC are close in structure, so it was easy to switch over. The PS3, the CPU and the design are unique... our programmer is extremely talented, and was able to figure it out. I think after repeated meetings with Sony that we were able to tap into the PS3."
Yes, they did tap into the PlayStation 3, into about 5GB of my hard drive. Other than that, the game is great.

Capcom to Unleash More Rocketmen

A new ESRB listing reveals that Capcom is going to be bringing out more Rocketmen games on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live. There is a new listing for Rocketmen: It Came From Uranus with an E10+ rating. I cannot say I'm pleased, considering Axis of Evil was bad enough.

Capcom Explains Reason for No SSF2T HD Remix Beta on PS3

For those who haven't heard, the Xbox 360 is getting a beta of Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix when they purchase Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 on Xbox Live. PlayStation 3 owners, however, do not receive the beta.

A Capcom fan got angry on the forums and expressed his disappointment, so Capcom stepped in. They stated that the budget would raise if they did two betas, and in their ideal world, they would do the beta on both consoles. The main point is, however, "There is code parity across the two and any issues found in 360 will be fixed in PS3. So while PS3 owners won’t be able to participate in the beta, they will still benefit in the finished product."

The only thing they don't really explain why they are doing it on the Xbox 360 however.

Devil May Cry 4 is 9th PlayStation 3 title to Pass 1 Million

According to the latest gaming charts, Capcom's Devil May Cry 4 has become the ninth PlayStation 3 title to pass the 1 million units sold mark. The PlayStation 3 version has also passed the mark quite faster than the Xbox 360 version, as you can see due to the fact it has 60,000 more sales. Congratulations Devil May Cry 4.

1942: Joint Strike: New Capcom Downloadable Title

Capcom yesterday announced 1942: Joint Strike, which is a vertical arcade shooter. Gameplay is in 2D, utilizing a 3D engine.

It takes place during a World War II like era, meaning the locales, vehicles, and weapons have the feel of that particular war. However, the world in which this game takes place is not our own world.

The game will feature classic arcade style gameplay, new Joint Strike attacks, 2-player local or online missions, and of course, it is a top down vertical shooter.

Lost Planet Colonies Not Coming to PlayStation 3, Slap in the Face

A while back, Capcom announced at their Gamer's Day that they are bringing Lost Planet: Extreme Condition to the PlayStation 3, as an apology for moving development of Monster Hunter 3 off the PlayStation 3 and to the Nintendo Wii. The game, which was released last month, contained all the additional content as well as some new content.

Now, Capcom has slapped PlayStation 3 owners in the face. They've announced Lost Planet: Extreme Condition Colonies Edition. This contains multiplayer cross-play with the PC, along with new game modes and more such as Score Attack, Trial Battle Mode, and Off Limit Mode.

The addition content from the PlayStation 3 port of Lost Planet: Extreme Condition such as Luka, Frank West, Mega Man, and all the downloadable maps will be in Colonies as well.

New multiplayer modes will be present as well such as Akrid Hunter VS Annihlaator, CounterGrab, Point Snatcher, Akrid Egg Battle, and Egg Bandit. Four new multiplayer maps named Crossfire City, Area 921, Lost Arenan, and Assault Space will be available as well. New character models such as two new females, two new robots, and five other models have been added as well. A bunch of new weapons alongside those features. The game is launching at $29.95.

The catch is, that it's only coming to the Xbox 360 and PC. Please, tell me that isn't the biggest slap in the face that you've ever read to PlayStation 3 owners. For those who don't know, they released the (really bad, half-assed) PlayStation 3 version as an apology at a "budget price" of $40 last month with less content than this new edition.

New Street Fighter IV Character Leaked: El Fuerte

A new piece of artwork from this week's pre-newsstand issue of Japanese gaming magazine, Famitsu, shows us a new Street Fighter IV character named "El Fuerte." He is a Lucha Libre wrestler as you can tell from the picture, but that is all we know.

Lost Planet Colonies Announced: Not for PlayStation 3

In a new magazine scan, Capcom finally announces Lost Planet Colonies, except it is not for PlayStation 3. I remember Capcom releasing Devil May Cry 4 as a multiplatform title to make "its titles available to as wide an audience as possible". Colonies was announced for the Xbox 360 & PC and should feature cross platform play, lets you play as bugs, and should be out in Japan on May 29, 2008. The scan does however feature Xbox Japan boss Takashi Sensui, so it's not so rock solid yet. We will let you know when we find out.

Street Fighter IV: Chun-Li vs. Crimson Viper Ink Style

A new ink-style trailer has been released for Street Fighter IV where Chun-Li and Crimson Viper, two of the females of the game, battle it out. The battle is really unique and flower-filled, but Chun-Li has Crimson Viper with her mega-thighs of death.
