D3 Publisher has released the official details on Dark Sector's online modes. There are many differences between the Xbox 360 version's online mode, and the PlayStation 3's.
First off, both console versions are played with their online provided and also have System Link/LAN as a choice as well. Each multiplayer game supports up to ten players, and have access to five different maps.
Leaderboards are available on both console versions of the gam as well. However, the Xbox 360 leaderboards uses TrueSkill ranking and the PlayStation 3's uses traditional scoring.
The PlayStation 3 version of the game will only support the ability to search for or create multiplayer games. The Xbox 360 version, however, allows you to create, join, and search for multiplayer games, use a Quick game option, Custom game option, and a Ranked game option.
Talk about half-assed.

And Xbox Live once again proves why it's the better online system.
I guess we'll get there one day.
Does anyone else get the feeling that developers are intentionally sticking to Sony because grudges being held over from the PS2 era when Sony was (seemingly) the only profitable console on the market? Maybe they're gimping Sony because secretly they don't want a Japanese company to be in the top spot. Although MS is an evil company that continues to break the rules wherever they can they're local.
Just a theory from left-field but it's hard to believe that so many developers seem to find a way to make excuses for the PS3 or just cancel games outright in favor of the 360.
Let's hope that my paranoia is just that.
It's not half assed it's a quarter assed.
Lazy devs strike again.
