Super Bowl XLII: New York Giants vs. New England Patriots

Well, we are just minutes away from one of the biggest events of the year, and I bet just about every guy in the United States is sitting in front of their TV set right now.

The New York Giants are playing the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl XLII. Who do you want to win? Who do you think will win? We will hit you back with news after the game is over.

Enjoy the big game!

Update: Well my readers, Super Bowl XLII is officially over and the New York Giants are the champions (yes, my house is jumping). The final score was NYG 17 to NE 14. The play that got the Giants their winning score was really quite amazing, especially all the just hit first downs they received before that. Alas, the Patriots were not able to come back in the 30 little seconds they had left. And that last miss they threw killed all chances for them.

Madden 08 PLAYSTATION 3 Patch Arriving Tuesday Morning

The patch that the Xbox 360 version of Madden 08 received in November is finally coming to the PLAYSTATION 3 (little late, no?). The patch is arriving tomorrow morning (January 8, 2008), full details of the patch below.

Fumble Fix - Reduced fumble chances in certain situations. This has been tested thoroughly and we feel that people will be happy with a more realistic (and more fun!) number of fumbles. This was priority number 1 for us.

DB Reactions- changes to the way that DBs play man coverage. Defenders in man coverage won’t be able to react to passes that they cannot see. This should make it easier to throw against man coverage.

Favre “Moonwalk”- I love the names that you guys come up with for issues such as this one. You can rest assured that you won’t see Farve (or any QB) dancing toward the sideline anymore.

Hook Zone Flip Bug- I saw a post on a community forum talking about this bug and it turns out the fix was very minimal risk. You can now flip plays with hook zones without the players leaving their zones.

Franchise - Fixed NCAA import issue where players would turn 26

Franchise - Fixed bug where HOF Unlocked players cannot be released in Franchise.

Franchise - Fixed bug where the FA pool would run out of certain positions

Online Game Reporting- fixed a number of issues where games weren’t being reported correctly or people weren’t getting the right number of ranking points for a win. This will also make stats more accurate.

EA SPORTS World- Accomplishment ‘20 consecutive completions’ not awarded when completions ends up under 100%

Madden 08 Roster Update: Vick Disappears

Today is the start of the NFL Season (Eagles vs. Packers 1PM EDT), and EA has released a roster update for Madden 08 on all next-gen consoles. That includes the PlayStation 3.

With that update came the removal of Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick. Poor little Vick. Here is a tip from PS3Fanboy:

"Vick's departure makes cover boy Vince Young the fastest QB in the league, making him your best choice for running the "bootleg every down and hope to catch the defense sleeping" offense."
Well, I guess you Vick fans will have to play without him.

PS3 Gamers Get The Bad Madden

Above screen looks good, right? To bad we get the stupid version of Madden right? Sometimes things just tick me off. The Xbox 360 version of Madden 08 runs at 60 frames per second, while the PlayStation 3 version of Madden 08 runs at 30 frames per second. EA Sports could of easily made it run at 60 frames per second. Now I didn't pick up a copy, but just finished playing my cousins copy he picked up around an hour ago.

Now, the graphics, compared to images I've seen of the Xbox 360 version, are bad. And the graphics make the gameplay worse, with a little bit of buggyness in it, it's sad to see. I don't know what happened with EA Games, they used to make good games. Whats going on now EA?
