PSM3 Rumors: Beyond Good and Evil 2, Secret Service, More

Issue 101 of PSM3 contained quite a bit of interesting rumors. Here we are with the breakdown for you.

- Eccentric Fahrenheit creator David Cage was working on a PS3 sequel to his obscure PC adventure game Omikron, but has been canned because the story wasn't up to scratch. Instead, he's working on a mystery game to go along side the stunning-looking Heavy Rain.

- Michael Ancel is rumored to be working with Final Fantasy illustrator Yoshitaka Amano on a sequel to Beyond Good & Evil.

- Guitar Hero IV is currently in the works and is said to feature The Undertones' classic Teenage Kicks.

- Superbad producer Judd Apatow is said to be working on a Leisure Suit Larry movie and will play Larry himself.

- Motion capture company are said to be working on a new game that will "define its own genre".

- Recently Swordfish Studios, the developers of the new 50 Cent game, said that they've been working on a secret FPS "based on a popular francise" for 15 months before being taken off the project by Vivenda. PSM3's guess it was Cold Winter 2.

- EA's Redwood Shores development company are said to be working on a new Simpsons game.

- Call Of Duty 5 is being developed by Treyarch and not Infinity Ward, but they spent a lot more time on it than they did for the third game, so expect it to be way better.

- Sony are rumored be teaming up with Netflix. Apparently they'll let you stream movies through the PS3 - for a fee of course.

- Did you see the MGS4 - Assassin's Creed internet spoof on April's Fool day. It's less than a joke than people think - it is, in fact, the first five minutes of the game but with Snake in the Altair outfit. What's the link? All will become clear when you play ... but there's a hidden Ubisoft logo in the game's end credits.

- Vin Diesel's Tigon Studios are working on some new games, including Secret Service which sees you work for the President security force and will feature input from Usual Suspects director Bryan Singer. The other is the real-life story of a violent NYC cop.

PSM3 Issue 100: TimeSplitters 2 HD Remake Petition, TimeSplitters 4 Information

The latest issue of PSM3 features some new information on TimeSplitters 4. The game is going to run on the same engine HAZE runs on and instead of mocking movies this time, they will be mocking video games. Considering this is a PlayStation 3 magazine and the HAZE engine already runs on the PlayStation 3, you can mark it as confirmed for this console. The latest PSM3 podcast pretty much confirms that as well.

Along with that comes a petition from the editors at PSM3 to Free Radical. Free Radical Boss Dave Doak said that if they get enough support, they will remake TimeSplitters 2 in HD. Want that remake? Give psm3@futurenet.co.uk with the subject 'Splitters HD' to show you want it.

PSM Scores Warhawk 6.5/10 [Update | 1:45 AM]

"A third-person shooter that never quite gets off the ground". In the latest issue of PSM, they review the much anticipated game, Warhawk. Their final score? It's a 6.5/10. The scan we have states that the title was much anticipated, but ever since E3 2006, the game has gone through many changes. Those are changes such as the game going multi-player only. "Now, we've finally spent hours with the full version, we can tell you certainly and most definitely that this is very.... mediocre". Those are straight from the mouth of PSM magazine. We are going to have to wait for more reviews and the actual full game. So far we have two reviews, one being from PSM with a 6.5/10 and one being from NextGenIreland with a 9.6/10,who knows if that is a real review though. Well, with wait comes answers, right? So I guess that is what we will have to do.

[Update | 1:45 AM]

Heres an interesting tidbit:

PSM: Independent PlayStation Magazine, Future US Inc.’s leading publication devoted to coverage of Sony’s console, has appointed Rob Smith as Editor In Chief. Prior to his position as Associate Publisher for both magazines, Smith contributed as Associate Publisher of Official Xbox Magazine (OXM) and before that, as Editor In Chief of the publication.
A biased review? Who really knows.
