Rumor: New KILLZONE 2 Trailer at Play Live Event?

Three Speech has posted a list of the PlayStation 3 and PSP titles to be featured at the Live event in the UK. One of the listing is KILLZONE 2 with the word 'trailer' next to it.

PlayStation 3

  • Gran Turismo 5 Prologue - playable code
  • Everybody’s Golf: World Tour - playable code
  • Time Crisis 4 - playable code
  • Echochrome - playable code
  • KILLZONE 2 - trailer
  • LittleBigPlanet - trailer
  • Play TV - trailer

PlayStation Portable

  • God of War: Chains of Olympus - playable code
Well, it's either an old trailer (which wouldn't be quite good for an event), or a brand new trailer. We will update you when the event arrives.

It's about friggin' time!!! I've been dying for new footage or information or something.

I used to check the site regularly but I don't think I've been back there since the end of January. The fact that they're still showing off an old wallpaper but now in Christmas flavor is disappointing. The entire site is more about the PS2 and PSP games and less about the PS3 game (although they show the trailer from last year's E3 on the front page).

I'm hoping that they'll show some levels on earth since they said that the level they've shown in the past was like level 3 and they say that's the Marines' (or whatever they are) first invasion of the alien planet the Helghast live on. Chances are there are some fights that take place on earth and THEN we get on a ship to take them out on their own turf.

With that I'm hoping that we'll see a little more diversity in the color palette. Although Gears of War was basically green and gray so as long as the game is rock solid the muted colors won't matter.

Here's hoping the gameplay is as addictive as Call of Duty 4. Sad to say but if Killzone 2 doesn't do what it's supposed to do people will jump right back onto CoD4. I doubt even Resistance 2 will be able to dethrone CoD4 but I'm hopeful.

I am thoroughly surprised at how amazing COD4 actually is. Don't think I have ever played a game for as long as I have with COD4. Even though I have bought Unreal, The Orange Box, Burnout, Drakes Fortune, as well as some games for the Wii since buying it, I just can't stop going back to COD4!

Anyway, hopefully Killzone 2 will be as addictive because otherwise it will be back to COD for me too!

One can only hope that Guerrilla Game devs are actually playing CoD4 and apply some of that same energy and rawness to Killzone 2.

The way I see it, if you're going to steal some ideas steal from the best.

I'm sure Killzone 2 will be a great game but one thing I will miss is the 60fps gameplay. CoD4 moves so fast but also moves just right. I'll have to get used to playing at 30fps again.

Not that there's anything wrong with the game running at 30fps, because if they do it right it won't matter.

Halo runs at 30fps (and not even steadily from some of the footage I've seen) and people still play that thing (although CoD4 is basically the top on-line game beating out the mighty Halo).
