Far Cry 2: No Demo and an Early Fall 2008 Release

Patrick Redding spoke on the upcoming Far Cry 2 at the recent Play.com Live 2008 event. He stated the game should be arriving in early fall of this year. He stated that, sadly, there will be no demo prior to the release of the game, since it would take away too much time from development. Perhaps after?

Far Cry 2 Multiplayer: 16-Player Deatmatch & Advanced Map Editor

At the recent Play.Com Live event, developers of Far Cry 2 spoke on the games multiplayer functionalities.

The game will support 16-player matches on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC versions. The game will include your basic multiplayer modes such as Team Deathmatch, Deathmatch, Capture The Flag, and more.

Whats really cool is this new map editor that they are bringing to the console and PC versions. Far Cry 2 will let you do whatever you want in the game's map editor, such as reshaping terrain, moving around objects and vegetation, etc. Then, you can share your maps online. No information on how they would be shared though.

Far Cry 2 sounds more promising every time. When more information comes in on this highly anticipated shooter, we will be sure to have you updated.

Play.com Live: HAZE to Only Run at 30fps?

The guys over at Atomic Radio were able to attend the Play.com Live 2008 show at Wembley Stadium and got to play Free Radical's upcoming HAZE. The bottom right-hand corner of the screen told how many frames per second the game was running. It was just about 30. Whether it was only for the demo build, or the complete game, we do not know. We do know that either way, the game is still looking great.

Play.com Live: The Sony Booth

Over at the Wembley Stadium, the Play.com Live 2008 event is going on. Sony Computer Entertainment's booth has its main focus as Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. Games like Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds and Echochrome were also playable. Enjoy the shots. [Thanks PSLegion!]

Play.com Live 2008: HAZE Never Releasing on the Xbox 360

Straight from Play.com Live inthe Wembley Stadium comes final confirmation that HAZE will always be a PlayStation 3 exclusive.

The complete game is playable at the event, and Kev Lochun is going to be hosting a preview event this weekend. According to Ripten, the game is looking clean and sharp, and Nectar overdose is a pleasing yet disorientating experience.

Two Ubisoft representatives were present at the game booth. When quizzed about whether the game will come to another console, the rep stated that it will never make its way onto another platform. Way to go Free Radical.

Well, it's either an old trailer (which wouldn't be quite good for an event), or a brand new trailer. We will update you when the event arrives.
