Quake Wars: Large Installation, Bad Graphics, and More

Sigh. Enemy Territory: Quake Wars will be coming out on May 27, 2008 for consoles with two separate companies working on the console port.

Nerve Software, developing the Xbox 360 version of the game, made sure the game features smooth graphics along with a robust achievement system and great gameplay. It will also feature an Offline Campaign Mode and Training Mode exclusive to the Xbox 360.

Underground Development, developers of the PlayStation 3 version, on the other hand, "was focusing in on other things like ... making the game look as good as it could on the PS3" and "creating systems that do what Xbox Live [already] does like matchmaking [and] server migration." Unfortunately, the "near complete" PlayStation 3 port will feature a 4.1GB mandatory installation and severely bad graphics. It is assumed to be one of the worst PlayStation 3 games (graphic wise).

I pretty much think this has got to be some kind of joke. I'm sick and tired of developers gimping the PlayStation 3. The PlayStation 3 version should not need an installation and should not look worse. It is such an advanced system, and should be able to handle more than what the Xbox 360 can, or at least up to par. It's really getting annoying. There goes a game off my "To-Buy" list.

Another FPS wop-de-doo.

From the PC/360 screens this looks like nothing special.

Don't get so bummed over the console ports. ^^

I realized its much easier to port from PC->360 which allows developers to get that market to. If you notice alot of the 360 "exclusives", also have PC versions.

< sarcasm >We are going to miss out on this GOTY. < / sarcasm >

I agree! I am sick of lazy developers! Crying about how hard the PS3 is to develop for, you want to make money, make use of the "TALETS" you are supposed to have. It's only hardware for crying out loud. It's not an evolving organisim. Once you learn it, you got it. Stop being so dang lazy guys!

Ya wtf is up with the lazy developers. I mean capcom has gotten REALLY lazy with dmc4. The story was crappy, and the install time is a wtf? activision can make a great game on the ps3 like cod4 WITH NO installs why cant the others? damn i think mircosoft is paying the developers to do a shitty job for making games the ps3 or something, because this is getting REALLY annoying...
