Resident Evil 5: Famitsu DVD Footage

The latest issue of Famitsu Magazine came with a DVD with two and a half minutes of Resident Evil 5. The footage is all in Japanese, so we have no idea what he is saying, but as he talks you can see him playing the game, so a bit of gameplay is revealed. You can download this at the link below (right click -> save as). Enjoy!

Too bad one of the devs/testers was holding a 360 controller the whole time but it was comforting to see a PS3 controller just inches away, which would suggest that they're working on both versions at the same time.

I just hope the racial issues don't rear they're ugly heads again. I hate that people started getting on this game just because there's a white dude running around killing a bunch of black people. No one seemed to mine any of the other games when (as far as I can tell) the zombies were whites.

I think the game is set in Africa. If that's the case then there SHOULD be scores of black people. For all we know the story may be centered around the Umbrella using small African villages as a testing ground because no one cares and Leon (I think that's Leon) is there to save it from spreading. It could very well be a story of racial redemption.

Anyway, I guess I just brought it up again but I'm hoping that we can all grow and learn to shoot digital people in peace :)

Capcom's current generation titles are developed on the PC-based 'MT Framework' platform. They probably have the 360 controller hooked up to a PC for this smooth performing early demonstration.
