PLAYSTATION 3 and The Forced Installs
Then, games like Unreal Tournament III started coming in. The game is awesome, and it's great that Epic included an option to install to shorten load times and such, and not a required installation. It seems as though including the install influenced some developers.
Then, Capcom released Devil May Cry 4. The bad thing is when you first load up the game, you have to sit through 20-25 minutes of install time, and can read a back story with repeating pictures for that time. Then they announced that the upcoming Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds is going to require a 5GB installation. Shortly after that, they said that Lost Planet: Extreme Condition will require a 5GB installation.
Now, I don't know about you, but even though the waiting times are enormous, thats 15GB of space used up on your PLAYSTATION 3 right there. Most the PLAYSTATION 3 user base has their standard hard drive on their system being the 20, 40, 60, or 80 gig consoles. Many people use their PLAYSTATION 3 as their general media player as well, meaning less space for movies, songs, pictures, and even demos.
Now I ask, are these forced "space-takers" here to stay? How many more games are we going to see this in? We will only find out as the time goes by. To tell the truth, I don't even want that 5GB Devil May Cry 4 gave me.

God No: Capcom Requires 5GB Installation for Lost Planet
We think Capcom has gone mad. They are now requiring that when you start up Lost Planet: Extreme Condition for the PLAYSTATION 3, you sit through another 15-20 minutes of a 5GB game installation. This time, there is no back story to read on screen.
Is it just us, or is Capcom hating?

This may be a mistake, but according to the list of games to be at the Game Developers Conference 2008 over at GameSpot, God of War III will be at the show.

Chair Entertainment to Create Ender's Game PLAYSTATION Network Title
Chair Entertainment is going to be collaborating with author Orson Scott Card to create a downloadable PLAYSTATION Network game based off the book, Ender's Game.
"I have been a huge fan of Ender's Game since I was ten years old, so it is a true honor for our team to be entrusted with creating the first video game inspired by this classic story,” commented Donald Mustard, creative director at Chair Entertainment Group. "Our goal is to create an authentic Ender’s Game experience that delivers awesome gameplay and can be enjoyed by both longtime fans and gamers new to the series."
"From the moment I started working with Donald Mustard and his team at Chair, I knew that these were the guys I wanted to do the first Ender's Game video game,” said Orson Scott Card. "It's not enough to slap the Ender's Game name on just any game--it has to be exciting, memorable, and endlessly replayable. Chair shares my understanding of this and I am looking forward to working with them to ensure the game is as authentically Ender-ish as possible."
When we know more about this PLAYSTATION Network title, we will update you and let you know.

Warhawk v1.3 Patch Features Revealed
Dylan Jobe finally spilled the beans on the upcoming v1.3 update for Warhawk. First off, we are going to get some new troop equipment. One is the Mechanic's Field Wrench which lets you repair vehicles. Another is the Bio-Field Generator, which regenarates health for teammates, and damages enemies.
Next up is Home Inegration. Players can now form groups, meet up, dicsuss game tactics, then launch a game of Warhawk together. So once Home arrives, you'll be able to do it right away. This also hints that the release isn't far off. There is more to come for Warhawk's Home integration, but they can't show it all now.
Players now have a choice for a PTT VOIP and an Open-Mic. This is one of my favorite new features, because it was really annoying pushing in L3 to talk. Players speaking now appear on the right side of the screen as well with the talk icon next to their name.
Finally, there are some new paint schemes and insignias, which you can view at the link. They are looking good, so I really suggest checking everything out at the link below.
