According to the people who run the GameStop website, Pokemon are going to be featured in Insomniac's upcoming Resistance 2. Thats right, if you take a look at their screenshot gallery, you'll see images and images of wonderful Pokemon.
Don't look surprised, this isn't the first time they've done something stupid regarding a PlayStation 3 game.

GameStop Lets You Have HAZE for a Week for Free (Sort Of)
It seems GameStop & EBGames are having a promotional offer for Ubisoft's upcoming HAZE. Pre-purchase the game upon it's release, and return it within a week after buying it and you'll get full credit back, meaning you can buy another game if you like.
You really need to look at it this way. This offer is pretty stupid. It's like renting a game for $60, but we all know thats what things like GameFly, Hollywood Video, and Blockbuster are for.

Arizona GameStop Robbed, PLAYSTATION 3 & Money Stolen
Two armed men robbed a GameStop in Arizona on Tuesday, January 12, 2008. The robbers stole a PLAYSTATION 3 and some cash.
The robbers came in near closing time and cruised around until they demanded money from the clerk and made him get a PLAYSTATION 3 from the back room storage. The robbers then escaped on foot.
These kind of armed robberies can be a frightening thing, and hopefully the clerk who worked at the GameStop isn't too "after-crime shocked".

Official: GameStop No Longer Stocking 80GB PLAYSTATION 3
It seems that Best Buy isn't the only one dropping the 80GB SKU of the PLAYSTATION 3.
Major gaming retailer, GameStop, hasn't been receiving shipments of the 80GB since November. They have, however, been receiving large shipments of the 40GB SKU.
PSU was able to contact GameStop and they have found out that it is official. GameStop and EB Games are no longer receiving shipments of the 80GB PLAYSTATION 3 units.
What could Sony have up their sleeves?

GameStop Makes Serial Number Mistake, Won't Return Defective PS3
A Consumerist reader named Ben was trying to exchange his defective PLAYSTATION 3 at his local GameStop, but apparently, they are refusing to repair it. The case is due to his serial number on the receipt not matching the one on the PLAYSTATION 3.
It seems that the employee who rang up his PLAYSTATION 3 entered the SKU onto the receipt instead of the actual serial number.
Ben's story starts at GameStop, where he purchased his 80GB PLAYSTATION 3 to find that the video and audio signals were not functioning as it should. He goes to the store to bring it in for exchange under warranty where an employee tells him they cannot accept it due to the serial number on the receipt not matching the one on the PLAYSTATION 3. They told him they were going to investigate, and two weeks have passed since then.
Poor Ben tried to call Sony but they wouldn't help at all either, telling them the same thing as GameStop did. The GameStop district manager also made the decision not to help this poor fellow as well.
Take this as advice, when you leave a story, check to see if the serial number on your receipt matches the one on your item you purchased. Hopefully, Ben can get a chargeback from his credit card company.

Starting today, if you head over to your local GameStop or EBGames, you can set a $5 reserve down for Polyponh Digital & Sony Computer Entertainment's Gran Turismo 5 Prologue.
According to the GameStop listing, the racing simulator will hit on March 19, 2008 at a price of $39.99. Let's hope thats the real price, I know I wouldn't be paying $59.99.

Saints Row Still In The Works for PLAYSTATION 3?
Despite news a while back of Saints Row on the PLAYSTATION 3 being canned, my local GameStop shows different.
On the top shelf, where the store displays its upcoming games, next to HAZE, Army of Two, and those type of games, I saw something we all thought was gone, Saints Row.
When I first saw it, I thought it was Saints Row 2, but upon taking it down, I found it to be the first title in the series.
I asked the manager why it was up there, and he told me "we put up whatever the company sends us." When looking through the reserve book, I didn't find Saints Row. But the shelf was titled "Reserve These Hot Titles Now."
Company error? We've contacted Volition for answers on this situation. We will update you when we find out.
On a side note, this box wasn't on shelves before, it was just put up about a day or two before I visited the store.

GameStop Sells Customer Steambot Chronicles Demo Disc
Within the depths of GameStop comes the tragic stories of bad salesmen working there. Today, we have another one of those stories.
BobTheFork of NeoGAF went to GameStop to pick up a new copy of Steambot Chronicles for the PS2 that he had seen on the wall one day. He bought the game, and head home to play it on his PLAYSTATION 3.
He didn't really look at the disc much when he put it in his PLAYSTATION 3, because if you look at the picture to the left, it looks just like a normal PS2 game, no? Well he put the disc in the PLAYSTATION 3, and played it for about an hour. He reached a save point finally, but when attempting to save his game progress, the game told him he could not save during the demo and must purchase the full copy.
Upon looking closely at the disc and tilting it to the light, it clearly reads "Not for Resale, Demo Disc". GameStop strikes again! Not only did he purchase it new, but it must have been the last copy, and the seller grabbed the wrong disc. That is why nobody likes the whole "we need to open one game for display" policy. Just get a box.

Uncharted to be In Stores Tomorrow?
Naughty Dog's Uncharted: Drake's Fortune seems to be pulling a Ratchet & Clank Future and shipping to stores earlier than expected. Many reports are suggesting that the game will be available at select retailers tomorrow. The GameStop online store is already shipping the game as a matter of fact.
A Sony PR stated that the game is not meant to be released early, and if you see it early, it's just a matter of stores breaking the street date. Either way, we still get our Uncharted goodness.

GameStop: 20% Off Any Used PS3 Title
Ever went to GameStop and wondered if you'd ever buy one of their used PLAYSTATION 3 games? You know, considering it's only $5.00 less.
Go ahead, and print out the coupon on the right. I'd recommend Virtua Fighter 5, Resistance: Fall of Man, or Ratchet & Clank: Future Tools of Destruction.

The Eye of Judgment Backordered At GameStop
Trying to get into the hype that is The Eye of Judgment? Can't find it at your local store? Your not alone. PS3Tag admin is under the same situation:
"I just got of the phone with a local Chicago Gamestop Eye Of Judgement .. sold out. Called 4 others before that because well I didn't pre-order it because that one time I thought would be retarded to pre-order a game .. oh well. I make my way over to the GameStop Web site to order it ... Back-ordered.Checking to see how crazy this shortage was, I called up my friend who happens to be manager of my local GameStop. They also have no Eye of Judgments in. Guess you will have to wait.
Amazon now tells me I have to wait until the 27th for it to be in stock.
Game Crazy reaffirmed the reason they are going bankrupt with the reply "I dont even know what that is."."

EBGames: Weird Folklore Description
Over at the official EBGames website, under the PLAYSTATION 3 section, you'll see an image of Keats that says Folklore, they describe it as:
"Two heroes, seeking Lucky Charms ™ and answers to a mystery, journey from a small Irish village to the netherworld. They must suck up the magically delicious souls of the residents to succeed."Is somebody at the official EBGames website hating?
