The third part of the GameTrailers Post Mortem interview reveals some Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction secret easter eggs. They asks about co-op play, and find out what the future has in store for the the team behind Ratchet & Clank.
They were asked about things they had to cut from Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, which results in them giving some interesting hints at Ratchet & Clank Future 2.
"There were certain things in the story, characters that I wanted to address more in this part of the story arch that we’re not going to address until a later part of the story arch. And more of the background with the Lombaxes and what happened to them. It’s things we hint at. The Zonie and the history of the Zonian and who they are."

Pay To Inflict PAIN On the Claus & Cookies
Travis Williams, developer of the PLAYSTATION Network title, PAIN, updated us today on the situation of the game. Mainly considering the errors received by Santa & Cookie.
"When we posted PAIN, Santa and Cookie were not uploaded to the PlayStation Store," Williams wrote. "Once the store has Cookie and Santa, they will appear as purchasable characters. Sorry about this confusion everyone."So yeah, Destructoid misguided us. The two characters will be available for download today. He also hints that online play is coming for PAIN as well.
"When I said if you make enough noise we have to listen, I mean it. If online multiplayer is very important for you guys then I will have to take it to the development team and figure out what we can do. I would personally like this feature too. It would allow me to "represent" on some of you personally."He also mentions PAIN themes are coming to the PLAYSTATION Store as well, official ones. So expect them soon too. I don't know about you, but I like this guy.

PAIN Removed from the PLAYSTATION Network, Coming Back Soon
Update (3:18 PM): PAIN is back online on the PLAYSTATION Store.
Original Post: For you guys who downloaded the new PLAYSTATION Network title, PAIN, yesterday, you may have noticed a few issues in the game.
Problems include things such as the characters not loading, giving players an error message which told me to re-download and install PAIN to correct the problem. As well as issues with the online leaderboards, and a broken video on the community.
So as of today, PAIN was removed from the PLAYSTATION Store, but fear not, as it is coming back shorty. "It is something that should be working today," said Scott Groyl, PR specialist with Sony Computer Entertainment.
When it's back up, we will inform you.

Dylan Jobe Chimes In On Warhawk's Operation: Omega Dawn, Priced
Dylan Jobe updated us today on the official PlayStation.Blog with some information Warhawk's first piece of downloadable content, Operation: Omega Dawn.
Jobe wanted to create an expansion that changes the gameplay of Warhawk and enhance it's replayability status, not just some add-on that takes advantage of the player's wallet. This new expansion will come with three new features:
- A night-time battlefield with 6 layouts called the “Omega Factory”. It's huge.He explains the new battlefield. He says that since many players wanted a level in the night, they listened and did it. The battlefield takes place at early dawn, with Jobe making ot more challenging and visually improved than the previous Warhawk levels. The level involves more building layouts and structures, platforms and detailed spaces for ground troops.
- New 7-player aircraft called the KT-424 Combat Dropship.
- And 5 updated bonus layouts for battlefields from the original game so that you can play using the new Dropship.
There are some places in the level only accessible by flying there, which is really cool for transporting vehicles.
He goes on talking about the Combat Dropship, saying that it's "pretty damn sweet". They integrated the new Dropship in the 5 biggest layouts from the original Warhawk game. He says "it really changes the way those levels play which is good ‘cause it gives them a fresh feel".
The expansion will be releasing this December after they pass and go gold. The price of this expansion will be $7.99 on the PLAYSTATION Store. He questions the one penny off rule.

PLAYSTATION 3 Finally Ladders The Wii In Japan
According to Enterbrain, the PLAYSTATION 3 climbed to the top in the monthly sales over the Nintendo Wii for the month of November, pushing 183,217 consoles to Nintendo's 159,193.
This is the first time that the PLAYSTATION 3 has come out on top since it's launch in November 2006. Could Sony be returning to it's former glory? Analyst Hiroshi Kamide of KBC Securities isn't convinced.
"It's nice to see the system selling much better than six months ago. But is it a sustainable trend? Is it going to really escalate from here? I'm not so sure."I'm hoping it keeps up as well, I mean I like the Nintendo Wii as well, but the PLAYSTATION 3 is a great system that isn't getting the sales it deserves. But in my opinion, a new beginning is starting.

Jeff Gerstmann of GameSpot Is Fired
Yesterday, a rumor surfaced on the internet that GameSpot editor Jeff Gerstmann was fired due a negative tone in his Kane & Lynch: Dead Men review, which received a 6.0.
Shacknews today confirmed via its own sources that Jeff Gerstmann was fired yesterday from his position at GameSpot. The source declined to comment as to whether the firing was directly related to the reported Eidos situation, but the circumstances are suspicious at the least.

2.01 Turning Your Console Into Brickstation 3?
Firmware 2.01 was released last week, and some PLAYSTATION 3 owners started to report their console would not read Blu-Ray discs, along with some not reading DVDs at all. The reports started hitting when gamers upgraded to PLAYSTATION 3 firmware 2.01.
“I inserted Blu Ray Disc into PS3 for first time and movie appeared under video tab. It started to play and i started skipping previews and then all of a sudden screen went blank. I went back to PS3 home screen and tried ejected and inserting Blu Ray movie back into PS3 and the icon fails to appear under the video tab. I then tried DVD and that did not appear either. PS3 Games still work. Please help!”I am currently on the 2.01 update, but have yet to experience anything. Riptens own Derek Matias upgraded as well, and his PLAYSTATION 3 is half-bricked.
Hopefully, Sony is working on a fix. If this happens to you, and you still have warranty, head to your local store and go switch it out if you can't wait. Or call Sony.

Madden 08 Patch Coming Soon for the PLAYSTATION 3
A patch for Madden NFL 08 was just released on the Xbox 360 version of the game, and is on it's way to the PLAYSTATION 3 version.
This new patch fixes the following issues.
Fumble Fix - Reduced fumble chances in certain situations. This has been tested thoroughly and we feel that people will be happy with a more realistic (and more fun!) number of fumbles. This was priority number 1 for us.
DB Reactions- changes to the way that DBs play man coverage. Defenders in man coverage won’t be able to react to passes that they cannot see. This should make it easier to throw against man coverage.
Favre “Moonwalk”- I love the names that you guys come up with for issues such as this one. You can rest assured that you won’t see Farve (or any QB) dancing toward the sideline anymore.
Hook Zone Flip Bug- I saw a post on a community forum talking about this bug and it turns out the fix was very minimal risk. You can now flip plays with hook zones without the players leaving their zones.
Franchise - Fixed NCAA import issue where players would turn 26
Franchise - Fixed bug where HOF Unlocked players cannot be released in Franchise.
Franchise - Fixed bug where the FA pool would run out of certain positions
Online Game Reporting- fixed a number of issues where games weren’t being reported correctly or people weren’t getting the right number of ranking points for a win. This will also make stats more accurate.
EA SPORTS World- Accomplishment ‘20 consecutive completions’ not awarded when completions ends up under 100%
We will remind you when it's available for download.

Gamespot Editor Fired Over Kane & Lynch Review?
A new rumor has surfaced today of long-time GameSpot reviewer Jeff Gerstmann has been fired. Normally, that wouldn't be worthy of a news post, but the reason for him being fired makes it worthy.
It seems it was due to advertiser pressure for his review of Eidos Interactive's Kane & Lynch: Dead Men.
Jeff reviewed Kane & Lynch: Dead Men with a not so nice score of 6.0, which is a fair in GameSpot's scale. The reason for Jeff's firing wasn't the score, but the "tone" of his review.
If the rumor is true, it could be a sad thing to see from a great site such as GameSpot. Bad publicity too.

Ex-2K Boston Employees Forming New Studio?
Gamasutra's job board showed a job listing for a development studio being established in Bay Area of northern California by "creators of the award-winning 'Bioshock'." It seems now though, that the listing excludes the BioShock game reference.
To add to that, Surfer Girl blogged that many creators of the game did not want to work with Ken anymore saying "a good chunk of the BioShock team did not want to work with Ken [Levine] ever again" and that publisher 2K "let them set up a new studio so that they can make Bioshock 2, leaving Ken with Project X."
What does this new studio have to bring?

Namco Bandai: "We are Looking for Other Publishers to Make Titles for Guncon 3"
In a new interview with Namco Bandai Time Crisis 4 producer Teruaki Minami, they talk about the game, along with the Guncon 3.
Some interesting Guncon 3 related information is brought up after they ask Minami his thoughts on Japan PLAYSTATION 3 marketing.
He ensures that the market is still growing and that they plan to release new titles for the PLAYSTATION 3 using the Guncon 3. He also mentions that:
"By the way, currently we are looking for other publishers to make titles for Guncon 3. I know that the number of titles which work with Guncon 3 is not enough for consumers, and we definitely need more titles that work with Guncon 3. As you can see, we only have Time Crisis 4!"That means more PLAYSTATION 3 exclusive titles are on their way. You never know what could be the next system seller, right?

HAZE: Possible Downloadable Content, PLAYSTATION 3 Thoughts
In a recent interview with Rob Yescombe and Derek Littlewood of HAZE, they talk about working on the PLAYSTATION 3 console.
Yescombe is very proud of the HAZE, as he says "Well, with four-player hot-swap co-op, the Nectar gameplay system, two unique factions with totally different skills and abilities, as well as the 16-player multiplayer story maps, we’ve got a top notch package". He ensures us that we will get the value for our money.
Littlewood spoke on Blu-Ray necessity for the PLAYSTATION 3. He says it's not clearly a necessity, but it's a great addition to the conosle. Developers can add an increased amount of content that you can't do on normal DVDs.
Yescombe comes back explaining that some developers don't utilize the storage capacity due to multiplatform titles. If your developing exclusively for the console, then there is no reason not to use the space, but multiplatform needs to be equal on both consoles.
He continued on, explaning why they dropped HAZE on the Xbox 360 and PC. He explains that dropping those two consoles allowed to work and focus on one platform, and that the entire HAZE team has been able to work very closely with the PLAYSTATION 3.
The reason they chose the platform is because the company has a history of good results from PLAYSTATION hardware. They wanted the PLAYSTATION 3 to get some recognition.
On downloadable content, Yescombe says that he would like to, but he cannot comment anymore on it at the moment. When asked about dedicated servers for the game, he could not comment at all either.
Yescombe starts to talk about clans and friends. You'll be able to send in-game messages to your friends, or co-op them into your multiplayer game. He wasn't allowed to say more after that sadly.
He ends it with saying that they are using what they've learned from HAZE for TimeSplitters 4 development, and that you need to buy the games.

Burnout Paradise Producer Loved Working from PLAYSTATION 3 At Start
In a new interview with producer of Burnout Paradise, Nick Channon, we find out the good side of Electronic Arts. CVG quizzes him on several questions, then asks:Everyone seems to be leading on Xbox 360. Why did you decide to make the PS3 your main SKU for Burnout?
I think we can agree here, you wait and see how nice Burnout Paradise will look on the console. It will be "fabulous".
Channon: We've always led on the Sony platforms. Historically at Criterion we've always done that and we didn't want this year to be any different. We've always loved Sony machines and we've loved PS3 from the start, we think it's a fantastic machine. We felt very strongly about that.
So from the beginning we were always going to lead on PS3 and our transition between the two machines has been really seamless and straight-forward, where as other people have lead on 360 and found it hard to get on PS3.
We've had none of those problems. We really like 360 and if you get the opportunity to play it the two versions are exactly the same. I think we've really reaped the benefits of leading on PS3 because of that.

LittleBigPlanet Due To Hit This Year?
The Sixth Axis, a European PLAYSTATION 3 gaming site, have obtained a bit of information for people who tested Warhawk. They write:
"...beta testers lucky enough to have sampled Warhawk early can perhaps look forward to something a little bit special in it's place. We're going to go out on a limb and guess that it will be in the form of a LittleBigPlanet beta but don't get your hopes up, and there's no word on a date yet or indeed anything even remotely official."I was one of the lucky few who was able to test Sony's Warhawk, and if this means we get LittleBigPlanet as well, than lucky us.

Devil May Cry 4 Demo Hitting the Network This December?
Two days ago, French gaming website, Jeux France, reported that a Devil May Cry 4 demo will be coming out soon and exclusively for the Xbox 360. Many Devil May Cry 4 fans weeped, but I'll gladly say it, it is untrue.
An angry PLAYSTATION 3 fan posted in the comments: “Why the hell won’t it be on PSN!?” And a Capcom representative replied to him kindly with:
“Wait a little while longer and the demo strategy will be clear. The official website for Devil May Cry 4 is going to update December 5, 2007 with news on the demo. A demo was shown playing on the PLAYSTATION 3 a few days back as well.
I’ll say this: The information printed above and in that article as written is incorrect.
The news you’re looking for is not far off... a little more patience please.”
Could a demo be coming this December?

Project Origin (F.E.A.R 2): New Information & Screenshots
Gameplayer has spent some time in front of the sequel to F.E.A.R which will now go by the name Project Origin thanks to the contest they held a while back.
It goes into detail about the story, new gameplay features and how the graphics are shaping up. It also features a bunch of screenshots.
"She may still be psychically emanating her appearance of herself as a child, but Alma is very much on the loose. She slowly walks over, solemnly intones “We all fall down…” and then the action really begins."Read the full article at the link below along with some new screenshots.

Overlord Coming to the PLAYSTATION 3?
Triumph Studios recently put up a job posting stating that it is looking for PLAYSTATION 3 programmers able to port over coding from the Xbox 360 and PC to the PLAYSTATION 3.
Considering that their only title on the Xbox 360 and PC together is Overlord (which received a metascore of 81/100), could this mean a port of the game is making it's way to the PLAYSTATION 3?
Or could it just mean they are beginning a new project and need PLAYSTATION 3 porters? That would make sense, but why would they need to be able to port over Xbox 360 AND PC coding?

PLAYSTATION Bling: We Wish We Had It
Wouldn't it be pimpin' walking around with a PLAYSTATION 2 remote on your chest, reppin' your game, and steppin' up with pride? We only got one thing to say for this bling.
"If I could bling with a circle, square, try-angle, and X//Nuff' said.
Then I'd certainly be wearin' the controller 'top my chest//
Though we got silver buttons, we diamonds, correct//
We bling with a PS (Pee-Es), we ain't one to neglect//-onAXIS Administrator"

GameSpot Previews The Orange Box: "Not Necessarily Throw Your SIXAXIS Against the Wall Bad"
GameSpot finally got it's turn with Valve & EA's The Orange Box for the PLAYSTATION 3, and they tell their side of the story. The game is not as bad as IGN says, being "virtually unplayable." GameSpot speaks:
"First, let's get the frame-rate thing out of the way. Yes, Half-Life 2 has its slowdown troubles, and occasionally they are ugly. Not necessarily "throw your Sixaxis against the wall" bad, but certainly noticeable. Fortunately, these laggy moments are relatively few and far between; for the most part, the game runs just fine on the PS3."Looks like it won't be as bad as people thought it would be. Although it would be nice to get those problems out of there for the final release. Knowing EA, it won't happen.

EA Makes More Money On Mobile Than the PSP & PLAYSTATION 3
Electronic Arts managed to make a hefty US$ 640 million in revenue. However, there is something strange in the breakdown of EA's sales. Take a look for yourself below.
- Xbox 360 - US$ 218 millionIf you cannot see it, the PLAYSTATION 3 only made US $17 million and the PSP US $21 million. Although, the mobile device made US $37 million, US $2 million less than both Sony systems added together.
- PlayStation 2 - US4 73 million
- Nintendo Wii - US$ 59 million
- Nintendo DS - US$ 47 million
- Mobile - US$ 37 million
- PSP - US$ 21 million
- PLAYSTATION 3 - US$ 17 million
Electronic Arts have been putting together some crappy PLAYSTATION 3 ports lately, and thats why you see the low numbers. We're usually not one to criticize anything other than the PLAYSTATION Network, but we're trying to figure out whether Electronic Arts plain doesn't like the console, or if there is some inside deal.
Who knows.

KILLZONE 2 Beta Coming 2008
We've all been wanting to know when the beta for KILLZONE 2 is coming. The game dazzled us at E3 2007, but all we really want to do is play it.
Earlier this year, Guerilla Games' lead tester, Seb Downie confirmed that fact earlier this year on KILLZONE 2's official forums:
"Of course there is going to be a public beta. I have always said that any game that has an online mode needs to go through a public beta to ensure it works as intended,"We've all been waiting for this Beta, hoping it would hit us in 2007, but sadly, it's not happening this year. So in order to find out what was going on with the beta, PSU contacted SCEA's Alex Armour to get an update on the situation.
"We are hoping to do a beta but I don't think we'll have anything ready before this year is over... it is something we are working on for next year,"Hopefully, the KILLZONE 2 beta will follow a mid-2008 release with full support of PLAYSTATION Home.

Rat Race: Q&A With Victor Varnado
IGN caught up with Victor Varnado, a New York City comic who has been on Saturday Night Live and Late Night with Conan O'Brien, who is also working on the upcoming PLAYSTATION Network title, Rat Race.
Rat Race is simply put as a comedy-adventure game in third person view. The game is to come in episodes, with each being about three hours long, if you find all the hidden goods and such.
Each episode of the game is a collaboration. They wanted players to get the feeling of playing a sitcom such as NBC's The Office.
The game is a combination of cutscenes and emergent gameplay that blends nicely together. The player can interact with all of the characters in the world at any time, and the story isn't linear. The experience is deeper and more engaging than one might expect. You'll need to keep the controller in your hands for the vast majority of the experience.
Don't worry people, the game has nothing to do with the movie titled Rat Race. Varnado thought that was horrible as well.

Upgrade Your PLAYSTATION 3 HDD In Minutes
One of the great things about the PLAYSTATION 3 is the ability to change your hard drive whenever you want by simply buying another 2.5" HDD off the store shelves. Changing the hard drive is quite simple, but there are people out there who don't know how to do it. So if you want to make your PLAYSTATION 3 storage size bigger, watch the video above and learn how.

I'm Colorblind! See Your Rock Band Drums Easier
Rock Band is a great game that I sadly do not own yet, but plan on owning a copy soon. Though it is a great game, one may argue that the colors on the drums are a little hard to see due to them surrounding the drums as borders, and not fully engulfing each drum.
So what to do? Generation Gamer has you covered. Visit the link below to find out how to see your Rock Band drum set the easy way.

First Details On Upcoming PLAYSTATION Network Title, flOwer
At the Montreal International Games Summit, Kellee Santiago revealed new details on the development of thatgamecompany's upcoming PLAYSTATION Network title, flOwer.
Santiago described the game as "first game outside the safety net of academia." Based on her statements, it's obvious the game will be about raising flowers alongside some new gameplay elements, such as we saw with flOw.
Santaigo states that the genesis of flOwer is a search to "give the player a visceral perspective, surreal and dreamlike" and "to experience a field in a way you couldn't in real life." In a break from most games, flOwer will "focus on micro and close up moments as well as the macro -- this relationship would be part of the experience."
You can expect to see some new game elements in this upcoming PLAYSTATION Network title.
